Re: Nails in the Coffin

Indeed, it's the "theory" of relativity, for example, not the "fact" of relativity.. If something comes along that explains observed phenomena more accurately, then the theory of relativity will be replaced in the accepted literature to which the scientific community subscribes, ...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

Yeah, blah blah, science is great blah.. All I hope is that good science directs the hands of the rules makers here, and I hope that science helps us find clean, lasting energy sources soon, for the long term..

Re: Nails in the Coffin

Yeah again you're assuming there is some greater malice or selfish intent at the root of those rule makers.. I trust in the ability for good science to arrive at useful results. Prediction is always terribly difficult - chaos theory rules over nature - but science can produce solid results too. If m...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

That assumes that no good science is acting as arbiter of the results... Like, I know what you're saying Gary, and you're dead right to be sceptical.. You won't have any argument from me about the pervasiveness of bad science in popular culture... Coupled with the media, and politicians, both of who...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

The ionosphere is higher up than the bulk of the atmosphere. It's generally regarded as the edge of space. The space station and some satellites orbit in the ionosphere...

Re: You wanted it - you got it! Mod4/Flexor/5.1/Faxi XMASS S

Hi, Combination of a variety of factors last night conspired to confuse myself... Between monitoring at low levels, the PolyOut1 levels being low on some patches, and what I discovered tonight, that my Scope card sometimes loses Clock Sync when selecting these modular patches - something I haven't s...

Re: You wanted it - you got it! Mod4/Flexor/5.1/Faxi XMASS S

That exception, I think it may have been because there was another modular window open behind the one I was clicking on.. Once I hid that window, that problem seemed to go away.. I recall the waldorf synth in a subfolder called trance (I think) wasn't working. I stripped the patch back to basics, re...

Re: You wanted it - you got it! Mod4/Flexor/5.1/Faxi XMASS S

I realise I'm probably not specific enough for you to help me out here... I do know that I can use Flexor modules fine - tried the oscs anyway - I don't think Flexor is the variable here. It's like there's something in those patches from Faxi that I cannot use, for whatever reason. Something that me...

Re: You wanted it - you got it! Mod4/Flexor/5.1/Faxi XMASS S

Hi, so I've bought flexor, and gotten your patches Faxi - thanks! But... Alot of the Synth patches don't make any noise! Anyone else finding this? I realise I ought to be more specific about which ones don't make noise. Take for example, the ones in the Starter section - even say synthstarter1 - no ...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

Yeah Gary, all good. To be honest, I don't know enough about such UN treaties to comment! :-) Yeah CO2 tho, it's far behind water vapour for sure.. Water vapour has a feedback relationship for warming too, so anything we can do to reduce the warming effect is a good thing... No argument. Anyway, yea...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

What am I doing? Well, I'd like to leave my CPU and motherboard with energy saving on, but Scope doesn't like it ;-) Seriously tho, I do my part, shackled by the sources of energy that my provider uses to power their generators. And solar panels are indeed available in Ireland, but jeez, the West co...

Re: Nails in the Coffin

Yeah climate does change over years. I believe at the moment there is evidence that it's happening more quickly than other periods. I don't get those that deny this. Another handy conspiracy theory to latch onto? One sponsored by petrochemical industry maybe? Like, we're running low on fossil fuels ...

Thank you Holger. Lovely imagery you have painted there - joyous youthful exuberance, the magnitude of a radio telescope, offset against the tragic news of your own father's passing... The hope and promise around the Radio 'Scope brings to mind the message that Frank Drake and Carl Sagan sent from t...

Hi, I recall having this issue a while back too... And I recall solving it, but I don't recall from whence I got the files.... Anyway, I have attached a Zip here, containing all files with the same Creation Date as matching Thing* files. They are in the Samples directory of my Scope installation (c:...

Re: Presonus Update Scope Compatibility

Did you get any error messages on why it failed to "load Scope ASIO"? Might it have been querying what Audio Rates the Scope ASIO driver supported? Maybe it tried to set an Audio Rate that Scope ASIO didn't like? What was the behaviour of the DAW iteslf? Did it hang and quit, just hang, or...

TBH, I've not tried ASIO4All - does it allow routing into and out of Scope over its WAV drivers? Multi-channel? Quick Google - looks like it can handle, not only multi-channel, but multi card setups... http://tippach.business.t-online.de/asio4all/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1220&sid=5bd3cf640a...
