Re: Theory why STS cant be made to work reliably on x64
I'm very much a dilettante in this area, but I don't think your general assumption is correct. See here: https://blog.mattmags.com/2007/06/30/accessing-32-bit-dlls-from-64-bit-code/ Now, that doesn't take into account this specific dll situation, or whether the real-time aspects of Scope may foil th...

Well, it was fun while it lasted!
Glad it was that simple to sort out, the options were much less appealing. Have fun!

Re: Repairing an Elka EM22
Yes, mostly worried about mechanical concerns. Frequent soldering/unsoldering can be problematic to both the chips and the board with respect to heat if you're not skillful, and any solder bridges that mis-connect the wrong pins can be disastrous. Breaking off pins is a concern as well. Of course, I...

Re: Repairing an Elka EM22
If you are planning on doing this yourself, your first step should be to check the continuity (fully soldered down to the pads on the board) at all of the connections of the chips with a multimeter. If you have schematics for the chips, and can access them under power, you could also check that the ...

Re: Suggestions for low power XP compatible machines or netb
Don't have a suggestion regarding a machine, but have you experimented with the compability settings, maybe at the point of installing it? (Right-click/Properties/Compatibility)? Apologies if it's an obvious suggestion, and likely not a fix, but it may be worth a try for only a few minutes of effort.

If data acquisition is your gig, those look like some hard-rocking units at a great price!

Experiment with assigning them to DSP 2, and then the other "old" sharcs. You may gain some benefit.
In all, I wouldn't spend much time on it though, I think in the best case you will get it to work for a session, and then not again the next session.

Thanks Ronnie, as long as it's reliable it's perfect for me as well. Looks like it could fit the need of some of the other posters as well.
Fraz, 100Gbs is massive bandwidth for MIDI streams.

Re: MIDI I/O for Xite
Interesting options, I'm on the search right now as well. Does anyone have experience with the iConnectivity MIDI boxes? I've been considering this: http://www.iconnectivity.com/mio4 It seems to be well-reviewed. I need at least a 4/4, and like that it will connect two computers via USB, plus has ne...

Re: Modular shell with 8 midi outputs
Yes it would be very cool to have this. It literally disappeared as I was downloading the other one, and then that one disappeared too, not sure what the reasoning is! My PM does not seem to deliver messages from the Outbox, don't know if I can receive a PM. Maybe these can be uploaded again?

Thanks Petal.
I'd go so far as to say that Scope is THERE. But it is primed for BEYOND. We're just having a hard time waiting for it, some more than others.
Cheers,
Cory

Re: Scope 6 does not exist
Clearly, I am NOT communicating well. The ONLY part of the discussion that I have been trying to clarify is the size of the on-board DRAM chips. I was present when the discussions started, before XITE was released, and a for a long time before that. jksuperstar is probably correct, but I would like ...

Re: Scope 6 does not exist
Tom, XITE can and does use the system RAM, but through the PCIe interface, so it's a bandwidth hog for several applications including samplers and delays, and will impact overall performance. This is also likely a primary reason that some devices are not functional in 64-bit. XITE was also designed ...

Re: Scope 6 does not exist
Let's not give up hope! First of all, I don't doubt that the DRAM chips are present in the system! I didn't intend to question that with my replies. The size of the chips is in question, and even that is really just an "academic" question. I'm curious about the miraculous engineering effor...

Re: Scope 6 does not exist
Yes, I've searched PlanetZ, and I think we're repeating our own rumours as it's same group discussing now, as then. I'd love to know for sure. But not badly enough to open my baby up!
