Re: Midi Filter/Router

Thank you for this. I'll put this device in one of my favorite places, my MIDI toolbox folder! I suggested a MIDI Note Filter a while ago that I would LOVE to see made: http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=32112 I would buy this device if it were available. Maybe you might be the de...

New Semi-modular FM Synth for Max for Live

I got an email announcement from Ableton. I thought it was an interesting synth from the designers of Ableton's modular synth, Max for Cats. I might buy it next time Ableton has a sale. I am curious what anyone thinks of this. https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/bengal/?utm_source=2016-08-single-item-b...

Nice tutorial. This is very well done! Thank you for making it. I found it very useful. I will try out of these composition techniques on my next project.

Re: Sonic Core SCOPE Professional (Creamware) 15 DSP + Scope

This was my obsession about two summers ago. I tried all sorts of combinations, starting with one STDM cable right in the center of the edge connectors on all the boards (the 3rd one in), which is most often recommended, to using 5 STDM cables for all 5 connectors, and then everything else in betwee...

Re: PolyFilter

Phasers are my favorite effect. Always striving to attain that ultimate 70's swirl. +1 The 70's phaser on string ensemble synths is definitely my favorite synth sound of all time, although my favorite use of it was actually in the 80's with the New Wave bands like The Cure. Right now my music PC is...

Re: Wren modular synth

Thank you for this! I'm late to the party at electro-music.com. The other day I was looking at the links page at cwmodular.org and visited electro-music.com for the first time. Cool place, cool modular system. I'll have to try it out.

SpaceF Modular Mixer in 2016 (anyone using it with XITE1?)

Is the best mixer for XITE1 one of the stock mixers since they are optimised for XITE1? Is the SpaceF Modular Mixer in use by anyone currently? I'm not a wizard on the mixing board so I'm not someone who would benefit the most from the advanced capabilities available in the Modular Mixer. I have enj...

Re: Behringer DeepMind 12 (Synthesizer)

I bought a pair of Behringer monitors about a year ago, and a compressor a few years further back. You get about three months and then the well known Behringer experience starts to happen. The pots begin to crackle when you turn them. The knobs either fall off or the pot loosens and falls into the b...

Re: Problems wen running several PCI cards

I noticed a few things in your BIOS. I have my PCI latency timer set to 96. You should try that. 32 is too fast from my experience, but don't go too far down, 128 is too slow. Also turn off both hardware prefetch and cache line prefetch.

Re: Help with my routing please

I have two PC's. One is just for music (Scope + Ableton) and the other is my everyday PC (internet, videos, and office work). In my everyday computer I have an E-MU 0404 card, which has a digital in. I have an old version of Wavelab installed on that computer, so I just send my audio from Scope (dig...

Re: Ocean Swift Synthesis User Area - LAUNCH

I'm so glad I went for the Prime deal. The MAX4LIVE control modules are very cool. That's what I wanted. Everything beyond will be a bonus. I've yet to explore the additional synth presets, but they're probably cool, as the Ocean Swift synths themselves are very cool, and new sound ideas are always ...

Re: Motherboard Recommendations

OK I have to say, when I first set up my Supermicro X8DAi I had many problems with it. But as it turns out, the board is just very particular about its components, the order of things, and is very inflexible in general. For example it didn't like the power supply I already had. It will only accept c...

Re: Motherboard Recommendations

+1 for Xeon boards. I have a Supermicro X8DAi w/ Xeon CPU's and it is the most stable PC I've ever had. I'd say any reasonably recent Supermicro mobo w/ PCI slots would be a great choice. Just check for a good deal on eBay. That's what I did. Try to stay away from AMD boards. I made that mistake for...

Re: super juiced up piano etude

I really love the 1982-84 vibe in all your most recent posts. 80's boogie (never liked the name boogie) is one of my favorite styles of music, especially the European (French + Italian) stuff. All that's missing in your songs are the hand claps with the snare. Seriously you have a nice touch with th...
