Re: Powering XITE on after PC -> no go
Poor Dusty, can't win an argument to save his life. Here in the XITE-1 threads we are all brothers so perhaps if you are looking for a thread where you can drive a wedge, you should go home to the OT thread. I for one, am flattered you pretend to own an XITE-1, and I understand the desire to have s...

Re: Powering XITE on after PC -> no go
it has nothing to do with fighting spirit or opinions. it is possible to do a standalone dsp processing unit that exchanges control and audio data with the host. power cycling such unit while host is on should be possible. simplified example would be separate dedicated Scope workstation with S|C har...

Re: Powering XITE on after PC -> no go
why could you not disconnect, turn off, turn on and reconnect a separate real time hardware? it's up to the driver programming to release it's resources when no longed needed and vice versa. only obstacle i can think of would be that the driver has to somehow claim a special real time priority that ...
Re: My piece
Next tune ringing in my head starts with horn. I hope it will not dissappear until I get a change to write it down.
Re: My piece

Powering XITE on after PC -> no go
Hi all, I like to keep my PC on but I try to save electricity and my music hardware by switching them off when I am away. But it seems XITE will not work after power cycling while keeping PC on. I have to reboot the PC to get it working again. When I try start Scope XITE it complains about hardware ...
Re: My piece
no brass? Tune literally screams for horns. Maybe a bit more vertical movement at some point in the strings would be nice. I had brass at first but dropped it :) The brass had some harmonic etc issues that made it sound really odd with other instruments. You mean moving pan from left to right etc w...
My piece
Hi all, This is my first finished piece for a long time using XITE, Cubase and a pile of other stuff. The piece is built on one melody I had ringing in my head for a long time and which has some sentimental value to me. I tried to make the song emphasize that sentiment by using what tricks I can to ...

Re: Kontakt
The best orchestral and choral sets are all only in Kontakt format. The world seems to be moving that way.
Akai S1000 format has some orchestral stuff too but no where near matching quality. I cannot say about other genres though.

Modular V with Kontakt instrument compatibility might then be the thing. Holger, could you do that for us?

Re: Kontakt
I just bought orchestral instruments and they got pretty nice articulations implemented in those things like sampled portamentos to make it sound natural when playing live with keyboard. I think it is some sort of scripting and that would be lost in the conversion I think.

Kontakt
Native Instruments Kontakt has a lot of high quality instruments and more keep coming. That platform would be worth while to port to Scope.

I have my suspicions on my dual PCI and XITE scope installation. Soon I will remove the PCI, maybe that will get me onwards.

Re: operating system sounds
it's on the last screenshot. "recording" is the tab for sound going TO the app from the card. you need the "playback" tab. why would you run Aero on a DAW? i'm just curious since Aero eats resources like candy and reduces the work your computer can do for you down to a p4's leve...

Re: operating system sounds
again, right click on the speaker icon near the clock. the setting are there. be sure to have 2 wave source and dest modules(i use 24bit) and connect the source modules to the mixer, so you can tell which provides sound. i belive windows prefers the second set of wave modules. they will be called &...

Re: operating system sounds

operating system sounds
I installed XITE-1 along with my PCI Scope and I seem not to be able to get any sound from Scope wave dest to the operating system recording device (tried both Sonic core pulsar nor Scope XITE-1). At first I got only some garbidge sound and after re-installing XITE-1 drivers my recording programs (w...
