Re: Avira Antivirus + Spybot Search & Destroy

CCleaner works good if you're careful. I've actually cleaned the registry so good that it cleaned the stuff some programs were using. So be a little cautious. I am not sure, maybe I did something wrong. But it a good tool. On Windows 10, it lets you uninstall the builtin stuff that Windows says cann...

Re: Avira Antivirus + Spybot Search & Destroy

Yes, MalwareBytes I've always used after the computer is totally messed up. You need to put the installer on an USB stick and run it from there usually. It will clean it for free which is great.

Re: Avira Antivirus + Spybot Search & Destroy

I've tried a lot of malware software in my life. None of it works properly except for Malware Bytes. I had spybot running and probably a few other things running. Clicked on something wrong or ran something wrong and spybot didnt' care. Ran Malware Bytes and it cleaned up the whole computer (over 60...

Re: XITE-1 Modern Laptop

Oh, forgot to mention. If you're gonna get a MacBook, make sure you get some sort of warranty. OWC gives you 90 days on all their used MacBooks. If you're gonna get a new one, do pay for the Apple Care. Let's just say I've owned a lot of these things. I know people that owned these things. I am pret...

Re: XITE-1 Modern Laptop

My macbook is almost 4 years old and has thunderbolt, but it's no use for me. It's no use for your Xite-1 unless you put windows on a macbook and there's a driver for that port. Getting a used MacBook with Thunderbolt and the Sonnet adapter is a good option. The driver is included in Bootcamp. If y...

Re: XITE-1 Modern Laptop

Yes, Latest and the greatest is right. All the new motherboards have USB3.1. I haven't even seen a device that can keep up with USB3.0 speed. They barely max out USB2.0. Any everything now uses USB one way or another. There is no way Scope will work with USB, because it has to be realtime. Thunderbo...

Re: XITE-1 Modern Laptop

That's the problem. I have not seen a laptop with that expresscard port in ages. But USB is not a replacement and PC laptops are just probably coming out with Thunderbolt ports. My macbook is almost 4 years old and has thunderbolt, but it's no use for me. It's no use for your Xite-1 unless you put w...

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

Aye Nestor, The Xeon I ordered from China will not be able to ship for a while because of holidays and bad weather. So I ordered another Xeon from Japan. will 12 cores be enough to run 2 instances of Diva plus some reverb? If it's not enough, I don't think I can find a faster chip that exists right ...

Re: Pianoteq Hamburg Steinway B

Haha Nestor,

I am still learning how to play synthesizers with some expression. I know you can do a lot with a piano, but with a synthesizer the possibilities are endless :)

Re: Pianoteq Hamburg Steinway B

Thank you for the advice! I actually don't play piano at all. If I wanted a piano, I would probably buy a better used piano. But that takes up a lot of space. The piano sound on the Korg is pretty good and I have the Addictive Keys piano that I got on sale. That's all I need for now. The piano sound...

Parva Kickstarter synth is ready to preorder!

https://futureson.us/ I guess this is one of the Kickstarters that did work out. 999 USD will give you 8 polyphony with separate output for each voice. So it's multitimbral too! I was very close to getting a Tetra for about the same price, but this has more knobs, better display and more filter opt...

Re: Pianoteq Hamburg Steinway B

Is there a way you can play some stuff on it so I know if it's worth the investment (in the future).

My computer will be down for another 2-3 weeks :(

Cheers,

It's all cool :)

I haven't lost any money yet. I've actually gained more by redoing everything.

Glad your new system is finally being put to good use!

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

No, Mr Nestor. I am rebuilding again :( The DSP really DID do a lot of work, so now I need a way to compensate. The system was stable under all sorts of tests. It's just that CPU was being overloaded when set on the 64 sample buffer latency. Is that you in the picture? You are very well built! I wil...

Re: What plugins are missing in Scope? What do you want more

Sorry, I'll be good.

Yes, I did have the SDK. No, couldn't do even a simple, actual DX7 emulation with it. So I bought the real thing.

I'm not gonna argue anymore, cause there's no point.

Back to bed

Come on man,

You tried to offer me SDK lessons. And you're offering Modular lessons.

When I buy something, it always comes with a manual.

If this is not true, how come no one has created a JP-6 filter that I asked about about a year ago uh? It's not a joke. People have been trying to emulate the SID for over 10 years, and there's nothing perfect out there yet.
