Re: Another reason to consider Ryzen ?

I researched it. Cubase users report either a very minor hit or better performance AFTER the update.

Re: Focusrite Rednet AM2 (Dante networking)

Hi Braincell. Did you use DVS on a scope machine? If so, I'm very interested in how you did that. I have a win10Pro pc with scope Xite-1d with scope7 installed and dantes DVS. There is no way I get the two comunicating with each other. I can see 2 channel signal comming in via DanteController but i...

Re: Another reason to consider Ryzen ?

It only slows it down 1% - 3% and future patches will be faster. They are patching all operating systems for this. I would not use AMD for music.

Even worse, the music industry is planning to end all downloads! That really bothers me.

Re: Focusrite Rednet AM2 (Dante networking)

Eventually all video & audio transports will be via networking, we're getting close in the home studio space. When I have done post production work in larger facilities they are already there, and at larger shows it's either networked or via optical cables & converters run in the trench. So...

Re: Focusrite Rednet AM2 (Dante networking)

I beta tested Dante Via and the other software components. If I didn’t already have all my gear routed digitally & to an analog board I would have it in every machine. Yeah, I don't have a board yet which is lucky. Still waiting for more Dante boards to be available before I get one. Might get ...

Focusrite Rednet AM2 (Dante networking)

I dove into Dante audio networking last night with the Rednet AM2. I'm getting significantly lower latency than on my RME Babyface. The sound quality is at least as good, perhaps better. To my ears it sounds better but maybe I'm just excited to get a new toy. The cost is $400, it has two XLR outs an...

Re: Behringers Mini is coming now. Pre-order possible!

I think the behringer mini is a sperate product, it is not a Roland SE-02. The Roland has presets and no Modular connections. But many people think exactly that. The Roland SE-02 has a few modular connections: VCF CV INPUT jack: Miniature phone type CV INPUT jack: Miniature phone type GATE INPUT ja...

A rhodes isn't a piano and sounds nothing like a piano so sounding like a piano or reacting like one maybe misses the point.

Re: Pianoteq !

I still prefer VSL Imperial but obviously you can't do as much with samples. The tubular bells, and marimba for instance. Pianoteq sounds digital to me. However it can be improved with the right effects and/or hardware processing. VSL Imperial doesn't need anything really. I turn off the microphones...

Cakewalk was always the underdog so this shouldn't be a surprise. I can't blame the owners for selling it.

He always says that mixing is a lot of tiny improvements that add up to a great mix. That helped me, also the concept of creating a space for everything within the mix. I will never be a great engineer but hoping to improve. The more tracks, the more difficult it is to mix. I try to keep my music v...

I only trust MOTU for MIDI. They are rock solid interfaces and it's easy to find the download. They keep the drivers updated forever.

anything for home use is just something that is branded with a famous brand. it doesn't make the thing useless crap, but it does mean that it's not going to be the same as the real thing, nor will it be close. Regarding the SSL Alpha Channel, I believe you may be wrong. Here is a statement from fro...
