ask them to.from what i've seen,they don't always respond immediately,but they do implement users wishes when possible.several emails on the same subject(from different users),would at least indicate a need.

it's pretty common for an os to become corrupt.if reinstalling the cw driver is not possible/doesn't help,reinstall 98 over the old install.if that doesn't work,start fresh.make absolutely sure your hardware connctions are good first,of course.(card firmly seated...) just my simplistic solution....i...

there are some very high quality used mixers out there for cheap.the store i work in just sold a ramsa 20 input board(a REAL studio quality mixer with high quality pres)for $600.that board was over $4000 in 1980.look around,they're out there.

you need a mic pre(preAMP) to raise the mic to line level.this is normal.what you are hearing is the noise on the cable.the mic signal is very very low level,especially a dynamic like the 58.this is the whole reason for the existence of mic pres.a hardware mixer usually has them built in.for recordi...

1. clean all contacts with a good isobutane or 95% or purer alchohol.

2.what IS your power supply?

3.proper ventilation?what's the temp?as suggested,open the case...

if most of the rest of your gear is unbalanced,get the unbalanced option.it'll work fine.there is no advantage to balanced connections if the other gear is unbalanced and everything is properly connected.
