Re: Phase mod in Flexor oscs not working

That's just a graphical resolution problem which I found out when we discussed Oscillators. Record the wave and see if it looks the same.

Scope D/A A/D build

Could someone tell me more about the PCI soundcard and the A16 and what type of digital conversion process and crystal is used for the clock? Is it Sigma/Delta? Also how are DSPs compared to CPUs with regard to processing. I always find Scope has some great sounding outs and the VDat has something d...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?

If we knew the exact delays of scope plugins DAW integration would work with mixing.

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?

Yes this board still offers a lot. Gary should know about what’s happening. I think XTC has a lot to offer as long as latency is checked in context. For effects, avoid chaining devices where each device incurs its own round trip to the hardware (eg use of a Multi FX wrapper) . For instruments, ASIO...

Re: Questions about Scope and Mac OS9

Thank you for the responses, very helpful. In re: to the question about use, what I was wondering is if it was possible to use the Scope plugins inside a VST host such as Cubase or Logic, but use a different audio interface for IO... not that this is the optimal way to use it, was just curious. I r...

Re: Sonic Timeworks Master Compressor

I tried this on single instruments as Valis suggested and the transparency is great if done correctly. It trips less if pushed hard and the clipping is controlled by the threshold settings. Really nice compressor. Doesn’t colour than sound

Sonic Timeworks Master Compressor

I spent time examining soft version through an oscilloscope to see how she works and I’ve noticed it has an in built clipper which can be very nice at certain settings but destroys the sound of overdone. I haven’t tried the dNa ones yet but would be interested if anyone’s tested any other plugins to...

Re: Scope plugins and oversampling

I'm not really knowledgeable about what has oversampling or not in Scope. But it doesn't really matter on any linear processes, such as an EQ without dynamics features. On linear processes it does matter in some cases, so they can benefit from internal oversampling. Basically a non linear process w...

Re: Scope plugins and oversampling

Try to understand each device's functionality in isolation. Viewing the signal in an oscilloscope and a spectrum analyzer is very helpful. Recording the signals and observing also helps. For mastering you don't need "oversampling". Common devices can be used for mastering purposes. Yes I ...

Re: Scope plugins and oversampling

"When pushed hard" What do you mean pushed hard? If you clip the signals you hear the clipping which sounds like distortion.... Equalizers are not limiters. If you "push hard" you get the results of "pushing hard" which is good and nice clipping. Well the meters don’t ...

That would be good to know because they’re my go to in the mastering chain and would like to know the specific design.
When pushed hard I hear some distortion in the high end in some. DAS’s Master IT EQ sounds very clean.

Scope plugins and oversampling

Are any of the mastering type plugins using oversampling? Plugins like Optimaster DNA’s compressor, timeworks Master, and PsyQ etc

Is there any device that that allows oversampling with scope too?

Thanks

Re: Anlogue output levels

Sure, include both DAW and Scope please, so I can see any relevant mixer & master info. Also show it with the test signal. My Apologies Valis. I’ve just checked it and the signal comes back in at just -0.1 dB lower with one millisecond delay so the level drop is not noticeable at all and the ga...
