thanks for your reply, I've mentioned using ASIO as sugested by Plato, Cubase and virtual DAT record without problems, no crackling noise, dunno if it has to do with the chipset as it's Intel 965 something can't quite remember,

hi, I get crackling noise on recorded stuff from wavelab 5. It happens only when reducing ULL to 7 ms and below, of course that's not a problem so far as I can play instruments at at 7 ms and below, my question is, how do I set wavelab to record at 7 ms and below ? I'm experience noise after recording with WaveLab 5, tho it does not happen with Cubase sx, I think it has nothing to do with the hyperthread thing, as I'm on Core duo 2, any help would be greatfull,
