About the same bad experience. You'd think that if Pro Tools wanted us to hook us on this thing they would have at least allowed ASIO, that would have really opened it up wide.

According to Musicplayer.com, Pulsar 3.1 Software is coming. Harmony-Central always gets the best press releases first it seems because it's dated January 17, 2002, the day Winter NAMM opens in California. Anybody know more than what's in the press release?

Two simple ones I did on my Mac G4, 400 Mhz. I changed the main 5400 rpm drive to a new 7200 rpm drive. I changed the stock ATI 16 MB video card to a Radeon Mac Edition 32 MB. About a 15 to 20% speedup there. Reaktor became usable (those ensembles are LARGE). But that's all probably "duh!"...

ProPack is already part of 3.0, it just needs a key to unlock it which should show up on your Creamware page as soon as you buy it.

The Motif is supposed to integrate with Logic (as well as Cubase and Cakewalk). It has a number of sliders and knobs that act as a kind of mini-mixing desk. Via Motif's USB connection it is supposed to be able to control 4 audio channels at a time on the big three software sequncers. I've got it to ...

There are the Arpeggiators found in the Creamware shop. They can control outside MIDI hardware. You could build a Modular device with its Sequencing modules since there are MIDI outs on it. Sometimes MIDI out is not implemented just yet in Pulsar so I can't guarantee any of this.

I was worried about all the early negative posts on the update but they were all about the PC Side. I updated to 3.01 on Macintosh and all went well. The Desktop/OS Mode is a little more stable but still screwy enough to be basically unusable. In this mode you can now use the device menus without th...

By the way, the Fazioli piano is as highly regarded in the piano world, if not higher, than Steinway. If you find those two, or a Bosendorfer sampled piano, you got good stuff.

Creamware programmed this action to be more Maclike. Highlight the cable, Press the same keys you use to delete a file in a regular Application, (AppleCommand), Delete/Backspace. Same for a module in a Modular II patch. [quote] On 2001-10-18 14:38, lore wrote: it appears that with v3 the "num&q...

You will always be happier adding more DSP power to a Pulsar System. I'd start by picking up a Pulsar II SRB board (or a Pulsar XTC Card) which will give you a total of 10 DSPs. You could add a SCOPE SRB Board which would add 15 more DSPs but that's a lot more money: $900 USD new (Pulsar) versus abo...

I haven't seen the details on the Vectron Player for XTC but I would imagine you wouldn't be able to extract your own waves or define the loop points between the built in waves. But that's just a guess.

The Vectron is a wavetable type synthesizer. You have four wavetypes that you can morph between. You can program the rate of change between waves and design loops, etc. There are a number of wavetypes that come with the Synth but if you don't like those you can extract your own wave from any standar...

I've just been playing around with my STS4000 (big brother to STS3000) and Recycle 2 for a couple of hours. True, I'd like to see more progress on the Modular 2 devices front but, on the other hand, I've tried many of the NI Reaktor User devices and found that about 3/4 of them were either very minor variations on the stock NI devices or were very buggy incomplete, original devices. That leaves a few devi...

Using Pulsar 2.041 on a Macintosh I can go down to the lowest ULLI setting and have almost no crackles in Logic or Performer. I use the next to last ULLI setting just to make sure there are NO crackles. Unfortunately there's no demo on Digital Performer. It's a rock steady sequencer, though.

Sometimes I use Digital Performer with Pulsar. You have to use Pulsar System 2.04 or the ASIO drivers don't work. It's not as good as in Logic but its servicable. Digital Performer prefers working with MOTU's own proprietary recording interfaces. It's better in DP when using MOTU audio interfaces. U...

Let me correct myself. In the Modular sample oscillators you can load any .wav sample or Akai (.s), i.e. a single Akai sample, not the entire Akai bank. You cannot load .aif files.
