DSP hungry (mixer-)channel
I have 3 pairs of speakers, attached to my A16u. To feed them, I use the mix-output of my mastermixer connected to 3 "channel", so I can set the volume for each pair of speakers. Although my projects are less then 25% of XITE resources, adding three channels often gives dsp communication l...

Re: WINDOWS 10 yeah, BUT... Which one? MODS and Scripts ISO
W10 can be setup to feel similar to W7, which I prefere most. shotdown10 and w10privacy can help to stop all that useless services. It takes a lot of time to adjust startmenu and desktop. I also killed defender and stopped all updates. This way you get a pretty good DAW-machine. For surfing the ugly...

Re: high quality software recording.
I tested it with PCI scope14 dsp on W10. My Xite runs W7/32, where Audacity cannot be compiled with Asio.
As crashing with bluescreen is a Nogo, there is room for improvement on the driver side.

Re: high quality software recording.
Just for fun, I just compiled audacity with asio again. The cmake-part was tricky, as that "conan" packages must be 1.x, not 2.x. Unfortunately, I crashes the W10-machine, where the bluescreen shows "scopepci.sys"... It does work with asio4all or an RME card, but not with scopede...

Re: Xite1 power adapter
Mine is labeled 12V 3.3A 40W. As a good EE never goes towards the limits of the PSU, everthing above 2A could probably work.
The only aspect might be, that there's more ripple on the voltage. But only very cheap PCBs can't cope with ripple.

Re: Anyone into Bitwig 4?
I'm using bitwig under linux.
I tested many DAW to exactly follow a midi clock and tune the audio-tracks accordingly.
bitwig and ableton worked best, so I bought them.
There are many features bitwig offers, which I don't use, but I like it for doing the intented job like expected.

Re: high quality software recording.
You're partly right :) I'm using Audacity under linux the last years, my brain must have mixed alsa with asio. Many years ago, I had Audacity with asio, as I tried (and failed) to modify Audacity for my needs. The reason for this was, that I compiled it myself... a way which should also work today: ...

Re: high quality software recording.
Try to use asio, not wav. Audacity can also handle that.
Wav isn't good with timing and sometimes stretches/glitches. (Wav is ok for getting browser-audio into scope)
Make sure, you don't have some additional effects or doubled-paths in your setup. (I'm writing this, because I once had it

Re: Strange difference between Adat A and B (2nd gen)
HQ cables have more precise plugs, sometimes recogniseable by not beeing build from one kind of plastic for the whole part. The optical end should also be a cleaner cut, but that is hard to see. Unfortuately, there no tool to read the error-rates from a receiver on the scope/xite. There are measurem...

Re: Strange difference between Adat A and B (2nd gen)
Back from my ADAT days, I remember similar impressions. There was a difference between connecting only one or both Adat-pairs to the A16. My theory was that one path provides bad synchronisation, which also affects the other part. This mostly happened on the input-path to scope. It suddenly dissappe...

Re: Wish for new atom (osc)
Although I prefer C over C++, I'm able to adopt linuxstuff to my needs. But just knowing C++ doesn't help without proper documetation of the api of the scope-interfaces and a starting "helloworld.cpp" would be very nice. Is there some kind of SDK on C++ level ? (I don't think there is anyt...

ctrl-c /v of the linktext works.
The tiny11 looks nice, because some bloat/spyware seems to be removed.
Nevertheless W11 is less compatible with W10 apps. To me W11 seems to be the successor of W8 or Vista.

Re: singer setup ?
Here's a picture of my latest approach.
The DAW is just for voice tracks.
At the end, it should also record the final mix.
Is this a common way to do it ?
