Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

Yeah, that's the problem

No time for music :(

This box + Behringer plus 8x8 MIDI will cover me. I am still finishing my SID box. Then a MadMouse Pro. They're both kind of analog!

Cheers!

Re: Bunch of Scope stuff for sale on ebay, best offer availa

Well, yes Sir,

Everyone has a different way of working. I don't know about you, but I am doing this just for fun. I will never make a cent of music, it's just for relaxation and stuff like that. I fix other people crappy code for a living and make it better

Cheers man!

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

Aye Nestor! I never had a pular. I still have some Scope technology left over though.. Yes, all those big PSUs come with a ton lot of cables, I have no idea what to do with them. there are those modular power supplies that let you plug in only the cables that you use. But this one will last me a lon...

Re: Windows 10 fresh install

I would advise you to stick to Windows 7. Windows 10 updates itself frequently and needs a few tweaks to get Scope running properly. There really is no advantages to using Windows 10. Latest is not always the best.

New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

A lot of old parts, a few new ones. The case is ready to be shut after I get couple more large case fans (in blue). My case has been open for over 10+ years. It has always been a mess. Time to get my $h!t together boys :) http://www.thomaslaskowski.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/new-build.jpg -Tom

Decrease the amount of space the paging file is taking up

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 and 60+GB of precious SSD space was used!. So I looked around and by default Windows sets the swap file to the size of your RAM. So I am just testing these new sticks of RAM that total 32GB, so you guessed it, there was a 32GB file on my SSD. It's probably not...

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Aye, That's why i'm sticking mostly to hardware now. It seems to last forever and no updates and never expires and you don't lose your license :) I killed my motherboard and Waves uses your MAC address for their licensing system. So yeah, it's been almost a week since I've heard from their tech supp...

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Hmm, I would like to try some new sounds.

I am still waiting for my new audio interface and just wiped Windows...

But you can always bounce the tracks if you run out of horse power lol.

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Ahaha you remembered! I haven't played it yet unfortunately, but it's all tuned up by my local shop. The strings feel good, the action is low, seems solid. I will be able to play around with it when my new audio interface is here :)

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Honestly Bud, is that like a 3000-4000$ chip? that can run at least 16 x 16 poly divas. I think it will sound a bit too phat... I've never seen a plugin that maxes out my 400$ CAD chip... I didn't read the thread, but what is the guy running on a 16 core chip? That's overkill I think. I can run a lo...

Re: Audio Turning Into Farts

Hmm, I didn't think you could damage an op-amp. The ones I've always used had a +15/-15 power supply so they can up to those levels. But these are old designs. The new ones are probably low voltage... What other gear do you have that's unreliable? My M3 is always on never crashes, same with the good...

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Good afternoon fellas, Well, that software must be effed. This seems like the latest official utility from intel. It's been running for 2-3 hours with no issues on a high OC. If you have an Intel chip, I think this is the one to use. It will read all your sensors and stuff properly. It actually look...

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Sheizer, I have some really bad news.

I found software written by intel that will crash a CPU on stock settings in less than a minute.

It's called LinX. Can anyone test it?

I reset everything to default settings in the BIOS and this thing just shuts down the whole computer wth?

Cheers,

Re: Bunch of Scope stuff for sale on ebay, best offer availa

Ahahaha, it seems that anyone that has anything to do with music is always broke. This pro audio stuff ain't cheap  That's why I am simplifying my setup. Just an audio interface with 16 inputs (yeah I had to add a behringer box for extra I/O to my presonus box that I am waiting for). I know the...

Re: When overclocking unlocked chips, beware!

Back to Gary's advice. HT off and it seems to be stable so far. I had no idea just enabling HT will make the CPU 15 degrees hotter an unstable. I don't care if encoding an mp3 takes a few seconds longer

Cheers,
