Re: 32bit INTEGER ASIO drivers
I guess so seeing it’s DSP based but I’m sure Gary can confirm it.

Re: 32bit INTEGER ASIO drivers
In other words, the difference between passing 24bit INT audio (the mantissa or significand portion of the floating point value from a 32bit FLT value) and 32bit INT audio (the significand from a 64bit FLT value) is below -144dBf. There were many discussions of 32bit FLT vs. 24bit INT in year passe...

DAW or Scope first?
I find that the DAW hangs on occasion when loading after Scope due to the audio drivers. Could someone expalin what is going on?
Is it better to load Scope after the DAW?
Is it better to load Scope after the DAW?

Re: 32bit INTEGER ASIO drivers
I mean a 32bit integer ASIO source and dest, additionally to the existing 24bit and 32bit float software IOs. It would be a dream to move audio to and from Nuendo in 32bit integer. Don't know whether it is possible to program such a 32bit integer ASIO software IO yet. Aren't the ASIO 2 Source/Desti...

Re: 32bit INTEGER ASIO drivers
Yes as, someone stated in another post, ASIO is bypassed with VDAT.

Re: Scope plugins and signal levels.
Well, it could matter, and Music Manic has a valid question. Some 'Analogue Modeled Plugins' or whatever they call it, do depend on the levels you feed them, just as the original hardware would. As opposed to most plugins where -18 and +18 equal 0. Vintage compressors and EQs that color the sound d...

Scope plugins and signal levels.
I know some analogue modelled VST plugins are designed to operate at a -18dBfs, 0dBvu level so are scope plugins like Vinco etc designed the same way of is db level not a factor?

Re: Scope D/A A/D build
I have two O?S setups. One is on a SATA HDD and the other a SATA SSD. Because I have a few SATA HDD’s I get an Ataport.sys latency due to the read/writes I suppose. I’ll switch off most drives and use just one of the SSD/HDD to compare.

O/S on SSD makes things run faster here. There’s a visible delay on SATA

Re: Scope D/A A/D build
So, when a 16 or 24bit WAV/AIFF is loaded into a track in your daw, that data is now going to be 32FLT (or 64FLT in Studio1 and Logic and other DAWs that are now processing at this level of precision). When summed into the master bus or to an output, this is also done at the same precision. Then wh...

Re: Scope D/A A/D build
I think things must be better now with DAWs but processing definitely can affect things if done incorrectly.

Re: Scope D/A A/D build
It just shifts digital data between CPU, memory and storage - nothing different from Scope/VDAT. But it does some numerical scaling and it‘s controlled by the OS... I also like the older AKM converters of the Pulsar One and in particular those 18/16 bit chips of the blue A16. :) So there is a diffe...

Re: DSP assignments and usage - PCI
sync is dsp usage. async are dsp processes that use native resources. the dsp number is displayed first. as a user, you aren't really supposed to know the details, but you can see what happens when you load things. Ye I’ve noticed things get spread all over the place. I’ll try with just a singular ...

Re: DSP assignments and usage - PCI
That’s what the STM mixer does - only in early days this was sometimes overlooked (f.e. some Sonic Timeworks devices). Ah I use the sonic timeworks master compressor still. Are the outputs not phase coherent? What problems do other sonic timeworks devices have? I’m not splitting hairs. I’m just try...

DSP assignments and usage - PCI
How does Scope assign devices to DSPs? Is it random or is there any special protocol? I know that DSPs can be assigned to devices in the SDK and I wondered why this was never addressed in the program Seeing that phase issues are inherently there. The STM mixers can assign channels to boards and has ...

All 2nd Generation Creamw@re products (Luna2/Pulsar2/Scope + the latest Scope cards + Noah (EX) + A16Ultra and Luna box) feature the ASAHI KASEI AK4524VF stereo codec for both AD and DA conversion. The clock - X'tal Oscillating circuit. There is NO difference between DSP and CPU when converting sou...
