Re: USB Hard Drive GOTCHA !! :(

On the kit its says IDE / SATA / to USB 2.0 ADAPTOR.

Computer Management => Disk Management lists its status as 'Healthy' - but the 'My Computer' window with the F: drive listed in it is frozen.

Re: USB Hard Drive GOTCHA !! :(

Its is indeed a WD Caviar Green, as I took it out of enclusre and used SATA Adapter Kit to power it up and connect to laptop, so I can hear the motor spinning and laptop recognises it, then I installed the diag and it says SMART Status is 'Not Available' : wddiag.JPG The QUICK TEST passed, but the E...

The Total Perspective Vortex is allegedly the most horrible torture device to which a sentient being can be subjected. When you are put into the Vortex you are given just one momentary glimpse of the entire unimaginable infinity of creation, and somewhere in it a tiny little mark, a microscopic dot...

Re: USB Hard Drive GOTCHA !! :(

Ive just tested the Seagate, it does actually power down a minute or so after the laptop powers down. The problem may have been that with the WD, that I often left the laptop in 'sleep' mode all night so the WD was kept spun up. But I will also try extracting the drive from enclosure to see if I can...

USB Hard Drive GOTCHA !! :(

I had a 1 TB Western Digital drive powered up permenantly and didnt realise it didnt power itself down when the laptop shutdown. Or even if disconnected from the laptop USB port. So after a year it crashed (Ive replaced it with a SeaGate 1TB). Im assuming the WD crashed because it was powered 24/7 a...

Re: Modular Mixing

In the meantime, I need this registry hack for the "hardware 30 detected, needs software update, read installation manual" popup as well as the "Scope cannot acces hardware" and "ASIO driver not running" issues. There is also GaryB's cset.ini hack http://www.hitfoundry...

Re: Missing VU modes

Confirmed and discussed here http://www.xited.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=773&hilit=fader and here http://www.xited.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=629 I asked S|C about this quite a while ago, the response was that they had to rebuild the mixer's signal chain for Xite-1 and were forced to remove ...

Re: Modular Mixing

Because of your PM I mailed some more screenshots from todays XITE-1/ SCOPE 5.1 crapout as also the earlier ones w/ Cwm 16_16c and more. Please read my private reply and look at all the shots which are in different folders and numbered in a sequential order of the workflow. Bud, I checked the scree...

Re: Modular Mixing

Why do you guys think Scope 6 will improve things ? Because if Scope6 doesnt improve things then why build it ? Maybe it wont address hardware utilisation in particular, but I'd be disappointed if no ground at all was made. Other than that, I'm looking for pooling of same host PCI and XITE DSP powe...

Re: Rack Mount DAW - Advice and Scoperise article.

That looks good. Especially if the 14" is depth meaning its depth is less than its width (19").

My current one is deeper than what it is wider and protrudes by a good length out the back of the rack ! Something I didnt pick up at purchase time :x

Id be happy if it was this year. 2013 at the latest would be a reasonable expectation.

Re: Rack Mount DAW - Advice and Scoperise article.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like the max I would get into a 1U is the PulsarII and forget the 2 x Lunas, and even then heat would be prob. Maybe 2U is worth looking at.

Re: problem with win7/64 and jb synth-pack

Maxing out at around 50% - 65% on 48Khz is about standard for me on XITE-1D - mind you I dont mess w/ DSP assignment much though so could probably squeeze more.

I only get to top out the DSP's above 95% on the ol PCI cards.

Roll on Scope 6 !
