Re: PCI SLOTS Motherboards
all motherboards since at least socket 775 have had the bridge, since PCI has technically been obsolete since about then. only the socket 1155 motherboards did not work correctly. some of the motherboards after that had the bridge and were some of the best Scope motherboards.(socket 1150/1)

Re: Please choose: Sony MDR-7506 vs. Beyerdynamic DT770
room software is useless. making a good room is easy and can be relatively cheap, once you know the principles. learning your speakers is the thing. if playback is on headphones, headphones are great for mixing, etc. if playback is also on speakers, you better use speakers, at least to check what ha...

speakers cannot be replaced by headphones unless headphones are the primary way of listening to music.

Re: Z-Link question
distance is too far for ADAT?
you can go like 50ft and if that's not enough, just add a repeater(it's possible to go much further without a repeater, but...). i have gone over 150ft with no issues. you can go much farther than that.

z-link only works one way. you can use ADAT or AES/SpDif to bridge between systems.

Re: 16 simultaneous tracks
96k uses double resources, and some of the dsp resources(connections between dsps especially), are quite limited. this has nothing to do with the number of dsps. the order devices are loaded in =can make a big difference, as there can be quite a bit of dsp sharing with bigger devices. it will be unp...

Re: Scope Pro XLR
96k certainly uses more resources than 44.1k, but it doesn't mean halving of the track count, necessarily. i would not be surprised to see the track count reduced because of doubled PCI resources being used, but i can't say exactly how many tracks you would sacrifice, exactly. there are too many var...

not interchangable. the plates for each are different. the XLR plate has an additional chip to balance the signal.

it is that eimple, if you have win10. win7 or XP will likely require a repair install of the OS. a repair install is pretty easy, however.

Re: A16
yes, there were z-link i/o plates.
z-link is not firewire, it only uses a firewire cable. connecting to firewire+damage.
make the proper cables to go from balanced to unbalaced. btw-the impedance and level of balanced and unbalanced are different....

Scope has had bugs for almost 25 years, just like all other software, however v7 is no different in win11 than in win10.

no, you don't need them all. connect the ones closest to the outside of the machine first.
