Re: Masterverb Test Thread

actually, 7 masterverbs with the Pulsar1 is pretty decent. i'd leave it alone. not just pulsar 1, both pulsars 1 + 2 and dsp load was only around 60%. but i WAS content and started doing work with my reaper already. but after i added mixer, 12 asio ins / outs and loaded only 2 synths i got the same...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

1) Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3, i7 2600, 16Gb 2) Creamware Pulsar 1 and Pulsar 2 3) Asus Geforge GTX 560 + onboard Intel something 4) 7 Masterverbs succesfully loaded I am dissappointed and a bit angry at myself for finding out about PCIe-to-PCI bridging only too late. So now I will practise my VST plugin ski...

Intel's new chipsets with native PCI support

To my understanding this might prove to be a good option for early adopters who don't want to get stuck with PCI bandwidth problems. Intel is shipping out new LGA 1155 chipsets Q75 and Q77 chipsets with native PCI support. They should be out in march. http://www.anandtech.com/print/4318 http://lenzf...

Gotta check em out. The problem was caused by my own mistake, I launched Cubase in and shut down scope software too late so XTC mode did not launch and Cubese started without any Scope drivers resetting the settings.

It's so simple... only if I was smarter.

"Problem" solved, error FF7-5-000C with Cubase SX3

I fired up my Cubase SX3 using Scope in XTC mode and it said device not available, error FF7-5-000C. Nothing seemed to help and my inputs were all "pending". I tried system restore, switched XTC mode on and off, refreshed plugins etc I found by searching the forums with no luck. Well.. the...

USB -> parallel adapter -> midi interface

Just bought myself a new mobo Asus P5KC. A wonderful mobo but I was stupid enough to not to check if it had a parallel interface. And it didn't. I've got a MOTU Timepiece AV with parallel interface. Does anyone know any good USB -> parallel IO converters that really emulate an LPT port? Many of them...

Actually I heard the transient designer hardware does wonders for drum tracks, my friend praised it to heavens :) I suppose the software version is equal to that.

Thanks for your advice. As I advance in my "mixing for dummies" :D I'm beginning to see the importance of compressing and limiting, especially drum tracks. How far do you think one can go with Scope standard plugins when considering dynamics manipulation? Do you see any steals in the winte...

Buying a reverb plugin

I just noticed the winter specials and I thought I might exploit the possibility to satisfy my need for a decent reverb. Any advice appreciated. Since I'm not an expert at mixing I do not know the art of reverbing either so I don't exactly know what kind of reverb I'm looking for. I think it should ...

My control changes are quite simple and quick: just 0s and 120s a few times in a second. It is not a problem with midi since it can easily be done with the Scope's ControlRoom mixer device's input and outputs. Especially the input is precise as hell but it also makes a little *snap* sound when makin...

Thanks for uploading the new version. Unfortunately it still cannot keep up with rapid volume changes via MIDI. It skips some of the changes.

you'll miss the damping factor, the stereo settings and the crossdelay possibility, but in case of emergency it works :-D You'll have them if you do panning and eq on delayed tracks. You can do for example 1+5 tracks each with individual settings, pan bouncing from side to side while eq dampens the...

A perfect delay with no DSP load

This I came up years and years ago when I used Cakewalk for DOS and it sounded perfect. Well it's kinda perfect since it's the real thing... kinda. Best for me to just cut to the chase: Firstly you have to be able to isolate your wish for delay effect to a MIDI track. Should work with audio too but ...

Thanks for your replys. I look forward to trying out the PassiveFader. ControlRoom inputs and outputs work precisely with midi. The input is sharp as a knife and sounded wonderful and dynamic but it gave a noticable click every time it changed. The output worked better. Unfortunately it was not as s...

Holy crap I just tried the ControlRoom mixer and it works perfectly! Man that sounds sharp...

So the standard mixer is not made for quick midi performance?

edit: the ControlRoom mixer makes the volume changes with a little *click* sound, search goes on.

Rapid controller changes with Scope mixer

Here goes another question... I'm trying to control the STM 1632 mixer with my Cubase. I set up the mixer slider to listen to velocity control messages on channel 9 and did a controller track for that purpose / channel in Cubase. I do volume 0's and 100's with 1/32 notes at 82bpm. Something like 4-5...
