Re: Vectron WaveformPack + VectronController [Download]

Thanks for opening up your work the to public,Faxi. It takes courage to literally release your work into the public like this, and I hope it does the good you intended for it to do!

Re: Ocean Swift - Polyphenom Advanced Hybrid Synth

I picked this and the Aeolian bundle up in the past month...I really like the mix of Additive synthesis as an oscillator in a subtractive synth format!

Re: One VU 16Ch Mixer

This looks great! I know you had looked or asked about having a section of mixer controls statically midi-mapped but dynamically controlling selectable mixer channels...did you succeed here?

(I'll test later, but thought I'd ask about the design's intent)

Some of the MOTU interfaces' mixers supposedly operate under MIDI control in standalone mode.

Re: Audio/MIDI Interface with Mixer

True, but if Ableton was considered just for mixing, I'd skip it. It does compression on the master outs without user control (only if you overdrive the outputs), but it is very flexible (it doesnt *do* anything other than provide basic solo/mute, cross-fading, and send/returns. If you wanted a hard...

Re: iLoud Micro (monitors)

The DSP used in these speakers will become ubiquitous eventually. This tech was developed for cheap laptop/phone speakers, but the tech behind it is really very solid. It requires factory calibration on each speaker *after* extensive modelling of the type of speaker is done first. In essence, the DS...

Re: Audio/MIDI Interface with Mixer

Harrison's Mixbus is pretty cheap ($79), and will work with scope and VSTs the same as any other DAW. It's just primarily a mixer, which is what you are after.

Damn, glad you are ok now, Ken. That's one hell of a scare! Truly, I am glad you made it through ok. I appreciate your less technical and more artistic insights here...which is to say the humanity you bring! Please keep bringing it into the world.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Have you seen the 1010music Eurorack shield for teensy? It's compatible with the PJRC AudioShield, but adds MIDI I/O, 2 pots, and 4 LEDs. It doesnt fit the 3.6 that well, but that can be fixed by using ribbon cable to attach the teensy. It doesn't come with a faceplate, but that allows for adding a ...

Re: Which scope synth is the closest to Yamaha DX7?

On the Nord Modular G2 hardware, someone created a standard "DX7" patch, and then someone else wrote a program to convert all real DX7 patches into Nord presents for the DX7 patch (some 40-50 thousand patches!)

I'd think the same could be done on SCOPE Modular?

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Yep, an N-Mesh simple protocol was my thought. SPI is a good option, since it supports the bandwidth, is bidirectional (though needs to determine a master), and could support audio/midi/other. That and Teensy has some fast SPI hardware and efficient drivers.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

This has me thinking of a network protocol to connect multiple Teensy boards together....I guess much like SCOPE does between DSPs. I wouldn't expect a compiler to handle the distribution automatically, but having a small farm of teensy boards is cheap and easy to deploy.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Even more wow! That really is incredible what the teensy is capable of, and what you created! Congrats!

You mentioned loosing some harmonics to fit it in the Teensy...can some oscillators use a saw or triangle instead of a sine to create those lost harmonics?

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Can pumping be emulated with an LFO/env controlling the output gain of each partial? I suppose some partials would stay stronger, and others would get very weak depending on the phase of the pumping.

Woah, is that something that sits in the editor, or that is in the Synth code?!

An “Altoids sized” Teensy/Shruti in a little box would be very badass application.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

It probably is best I grab them if you don't mind. I am liking the Push->teensy interface...I think I'll make a stand-alone version of the midi mapper, and maybe add a sequencer some day ;) The first edition Push's are pretty cheap these days second hand, and make a great interface. Maybe trying to ...
