Re: test3

Thanks!!!! The bass is the Harley Benton JB-75 NA Vintage Series B-ware for 120€ :-). I used a Pultec clone made in Synthmaker, the Fxpansion Free effect DCAM Bus compressor & a reaper effect named bassmanager - I think this is what made it sound so good.

It has been a while since I posted some music here...
It's far from beeing like it could be, but some nice things are in it.

All instruments are 'real' & played (and of course edited) by myself except the drums which are played via keys & programmed.

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

I did a very small recording, testing my new workflow and I'm very happy with it (I started recording on an usb-stick on my eee-pc with RME babyface, so I can use best acoustic corners in the house I live in. If I'm in an experimental mood I connect my I5 laptop to some analogue 19'' stuff in a chao...

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

Yes, exactly that's what I found enlighting to reed. As I want to work with XP on the scope machine I bet i have not a real option & Jimmys hint is a very good one! With scope inside I don't really need a super fast computer anyway. For me switching to I5 on Laptop was (in terms of performance n...

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

O.K. I have no idea about actual desktop hardware and scope compatibility. So I thought it would be good to have an update on my basic knowledge. Could it be that all the fear in the beginning with pcie letting pci dissapear was nonsense? Looking for a mainboard and a CPU lets me find things like th...

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

:( I just don't have a PC with PCe (just one slot for graphic...) My PC with scope cards is badly build. I found a way to use it, but I can't change anything without expecting the worst... So I had to buy a laptop or a desktop :-(

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

Thinking is over. This offer looks so tempting, but I see I'd need a good new laptop for really working with it - not just as a programming tool but also for making music - and that all would end up paying 3000€ and some days of reorganisation which is simply too much for me. It would have been grea...

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

That's exactly my point. First buying and building, beeing still unsure if then being allowed to sell is a big risk for a hobby & fun - developer like me. I could still learn much, to make deeper & much better solutions, but I needed to know if I am able to grow while from the start being ab...

Re: from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

The great offer is just on the limit what I could handle right now. But there are too many open questions left, to jump into cold water - hm, maybe it'll be warm, but you just cannot know right now. (That's of course the reason why it's so 'cheap' I know.) First point for me to help me just doing it...

from a distance ... scope is still unbeaten

In my last posts anyone could read that I'm rather far away from scope looking for alternative workflow, soundsources & processing. You get the clearest view on things when you have some distance. This weekend I was able to listen to the vst versions of softtubes amp simulations and compare them...

Re: Good headphone ?

I once had an MB Quart (I think it was the qt 240) and I ued it for so many years. After it got broken, I realized how important this device was to me. I couldn't live with any other headphone and managed to order a new pair and an MB Quart QT400. I now switch between a sony, an AKG and those two, b...

Re: project with students from leuphana university lüneburg

Oh, strange. I came on the link just by chance :-)( & was happy to listen to "my" music somewhere not on my computer) because a girl from the project wanted to write an essay about the process of music composing for that project & emailed me asking for literature & I googled he...
