I said it's impossible to do it in Modular or the current SDK...
You definitely need custom code.

Yeah, some hardware is good to have for sure. But for most stuff, software will be cheaper and won't cost you $$$ to fix if your chips die
That's why I sold my Jupiter a lot time ago.

The filter makes up most of the sound of the synth. If that's not emulated, it won't sound the same. There are certain things you will not be able to do in Modular, although you can do a lot.

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)
My cheap SMT rework station came here from Amazon this morning. The chips also came.
I am hoping to do some measurements on the weekend to see if it actually does improve the sound (I know it's just looking at numbers).

Re: Native plugins load across the cores in a DAW?
Hey Dawman, She's looking good so far. Playing a loop for over 30 minutes and not a glitch. BTW the CPU is fixed at 4.7GHz. The multicore setting on the Diva seems to make things worse. I did change a setting in the way Sonar handles multicore. But realistically, 2 Divas at 6 poly at divine accuracy...

Re: Native plugins load across the cores in a DAW?
Update: Disabled HT in the BIOS as well as USB 3.1 and few other things. Now the cores are being loaded almost properly. Have bunch of compressors and EQs + Eventide reverbs running as well as 2 times 6 voice Divas. This will be more than enough. Diva is the killer here, if the computer is not set u...

Re: Native plugins load across the cores in a DAW?
Found this somewhere: ----- I figured it out finally. And the answer is very annoying. After getting zero help from Dell technical support, I stumbled on a post in the Presonus forums. Apparently, new Intel chip sets use a USB 3.0 extensible host controller driver. Intel is aware that there are many...

Let me check out RME offerings. I am willing to pay the price. Hell, I'll even get an PCI-e card if necessary.
Thanks Gary!

Re: Pianoteq Hamburg Steinway B
Cool! I was just testing the Steinway I bought from Addictive Keys a while back. It was on special for 50$. Sounds pretty good. But for out of the box sound, my 10 year old M3 still sounds better. Doesn't make much sense, but I haven't gone thru all the presets yet and the various microphones and ot...

Re: Native plugins load across the cores in a DAW?
Yes,
I think that's the problem Dawman
Why are these companies making USB interfaces with 16+ I/O? They will never work right.
Anyways, Firewire is on the way. That's supposed to be the shit for audio and video.
Cheers,

Crap,
Something is happening with the Z. I didn't get a notification about your reply.
So it's something about my bios settings? There's a LOT of them. Let me see if I can google it first.
Thanks man!

Native plugins load across the cores in a DAW?
Hi guys, I think some of you use native plugins. I use Sonar Professional and it's acting weird. I've had this same problem with Scope, so it's not my new USB audio interface issue. Basically, most of the stuff seems to run on one core. That's what Sonar shows. If you check in task manager, the CPU ...

Hmm,
Maybe I will move the swap file to my secondary SSD once I wipe it. You may be correct, it's better to have one, but I definitely don't need a 32GB swap file

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)
What happened to your post Dawman? It's gone. Anyways, I took apart the ADA8200. It uses generic 4580R op amps. 4 of them on the inputs. 8 of them on the outputs. The best quality replacement I found for those are Texas Instruments LM4562 ($3 a piece). I only care about the inputs really. So that's ...

Boys, 1st revision of the plate. It didn't print quite right. My buddy has a let just say an old expensive industrial printer. I will see how she fits and maybe he will do quick adjustments. I designed most of it, he moved some stuff around for me. http://www.thomaslaskowski.com/wp-content/uploads/2...
