Re: Anyone on here plays bass?
A profile bass! Is it a fender style? Profiles were made in the early '80's, commissioned by a Sydney business to be made in Japan - to Fender specs. Legalities halted that if I remember right, but not before a bunch of well-crafted clones were made. No fancy bass lines? Perfect. Doing more with les...

Re: Bring out your aggression! (request for demos)
Some Flexor modular tweakage from 2003. Drums are a bit naff, but the synth is damn snappy.

Re: Scope live in Darwin
Nothing as yet JoPo, but i can direct you to the Saltwater Band, Malalung's old band from Elcho. Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu sang with this band also. Yothu Yindi is another Yolngu band. Story goes it was Peter Tosh who introduced reggae to the top end when he went extracurricular after a tour

Re: Scope live in Darwin
Yolngu people are the ones who use the yidaki in ancient ceremonies. The Yolngu are spread across a large area at the top of the Northern Territory - a bit like a nation with many smaller states, many dialects but same language group. Elcho is one part of that. With yidaki/didgeridoo - it's as if Ge...

Re: Scope live in Darwin
In the post above the bloke in the middle, Makuma Malalung, is from Elcho Island, part of the big group of Yolngu matha speaking countries across the top end. These folks invented what you know as the didjeridoo - it's actual name is Yidaki. It became a unifying presence across the rest of Australia...

Re: Scope live in Darwin
Jopo - tis indeed myself on the right. You gotta visit Darwin! Lotsa culture up that way. Gary - the insects tried to eat me, but cans of repellant saved me. Had to go two coats of spray around sundown... I'll be in touch later in the week :) Bud - jk is on the money. T510 i5. Cheap and effective. M...

Scope live in Darwin
Finished a show season last night in the Darwin Festival, Xite was flawless. B2003, three-o-three, Flexor modular patches, reverbs, Sonar as host for samples and ep's, all mapped to a Nektar P6.
Re: Nektar P6
Hey Bosone - i'm with you as a Sonar user - maybe they'll get around to that. I bought the P6, and I like the feel of this controller a lot. Brings Scope alive, the faders are good, buttons are led backlit when toggled, transport to DAW all cool in midi-out mode - very tweakable parameters for every...
Nektar P6
Anyone had their mitts on one of these units? I'm gearing up to take xite and laptop for a show in Darwin in a few months, and this looks like the controller I'll go with. 9 sliders for drawbars is a solid feature, pads, transport & motorised fader are cool too. I'm looking at housing laptop, Xi...

Re: Scope Rig Of Death
Nice rack Jim. You are reminding me of the time a decade ago when I was in a trio with Simon Cox and Angus Diggs. My surname is Freer, so they were suggesting "Freer Diggs Cox". I was like "meh, bit Crosby Stills Nash, no?" so we went with "Average Touring Funk Band" in...

Betty is still our titular head of state here Jim.
Look how that worked out - our PM is so rabid he makes Betty look like Janis Joplin.

AsRock H81M-HDS / i7 4790 / OCZ arc100 240gb xite rig up and running here. Bloody awesome
Xite :)
Finally got an xite-1, arrived this morning, all up and running, and I'm a happy bloke. Thanks Alex, and thankyou garyb for making the transition smooth :) As with my transition from Pulsar 1 to Scope Pro, there is a certain headroom happy that comes on at these times. Excuse me while I go load that...
