Re: help in crafting your own sounds

i've been doing classical / score hybrid style of music and that is where i want modular to shine.. don't want to use same sampled kontakt sounds as 1000 others. feeling of uniqueness is good :) to my ears it seems that one can get pretty nasty sounds of modular. loved the outcome of midi controlled...

Re: Getting the most DSP power to Modular IV

i've set dsp to 7 and cleared it when starting to create new synth as you said. since that i've not seen dsp optimization prompts so no need to do the additional steps for now. even when i did my last test with 15 oscs and a lot of other stuff. when i started this thread it was my first tests and i ...

Re: help in crafting your own sounds

i am not sure what is a vca swell since i am still a little green on this :) common sense tells me it is a volume swell but better you explain it if possible. by pitch up swell do you mean pitch as in frequency changing? i have fm oscillators connected directly to MVC C, no sync between them. if you...

Re: help in crafting your own sounds

my first take: https://soundcloud.com/pekkakuronen/sonic-core-modular-iv-test I must have some common flaws in the device and all critisicm welcome :) FM oscillator wants to do a loud POP at low frequences at note stop but there must be a nice way to cope with it. I intention with since FM oscillato...

Re: help in crafting your own sounds

i did try it the way you said with 2 saw wave oscillators and 1 square. it did not get that thickness but i will try but multiple oscillators with slightly different tunes and see how it turns up.

Re: help in crafting your own sounds

thanks a lot for your information jhulk! i've been going thru your tips one at a time and some have required some extra studying. you seem to have this thing covered without a sweat. if you listen to the first 20-30 seconds of demo song below you can hear a low synth sound coming in pulse-like style...

Re: You all suck.

my flow is very fragile amd it goes out the door the moment i get stuck with something. my solution has been to separate techical sessions from flow sessions. do sound and software tweaking only and do composing in a different time.

Re: Getting the most DSP power to Modular IV

Thanks guys for your quick answers. Dawman I will try what you do. Gary do you have any idea about Dawman's method? My DSP load was around 5-10 percent when I checked the load meter at the time of the optimize popup so it would seem that something else run out. Modular is one unique beast of it's ki...

Getting the most DSP power to Modular IV

Hi all, I've had the privilege of diving into the world of Modular IV and I aim to do all my lead synth parts with it since I get unique sound every time. But last time I ran in to a popup window saying I've run outta DSP power and if I wish to optimize. Clearly I've not run out of DSP power since I...

Re: Neverending Story - a classical movie score composition

Kengsuguro thanks for the constructive info. That's what I want to hear. I did try counter melodies with brass section answering to the flute to make it swing but I could not make it sound good so I just forgot about it as my deafness increased during the process... so that sounds like version 2 aft...

Re: Powering XITE on after PC -> no go
