I've never tryed this myself, but I've heard that there exist a program which let's you program about 100 commands. So you can assign any key you like to anything in any program. Sorry, don't know the name. Hope this helps anyway for you to search the program and try it out.

Subhuman, thanks for the tips, great! Most of us do not know how to perform those removing tasks exactly and these tasks ARE serious moves for the system operation in most cases so, please, if you could explain STEP BY SPET what to do, it will be very useful. I would suggest using the same method as...

I'm looking for comments and impressions about Gigastudio 160 The request is directed to those of you who use Gigastudio as part of your set-up. A few days ago talking to MeloManiac, I've been very impressed by the fact that you can use so many MIDI channels at once with Gigastudio. So I would like ...

Now I understand what you mean MeloManiac. Does Giga work fine with Pulsar? It seems a powerful tool because of the posibility of so many MIDI channels at the same time.

Thanks for your answer MeloManiac. Now I fully understand! 16 MIDI X 4? Wow!!! This is just too much. I have to try that. The problem is that GigaStudio is quite expensive, isn't it?

Anyway, how does it work with the rest of the system, is it stable and works fine?

You are right MiloManiac, but for me 30 instruments at once it's amazing! My Pentium it's just a 550 III. I'm really impressed that you can play so many instruments with Gigastudio with such polyphony. But even so, I'm still satisfied with the STS4000. It takes some DSP no doubt about it, but hey, i...

Using the STS4000 and 8 Sampler Players and placing the instruments in a way that they can all be played individually in my controller keyboard, I can handle about 30 instruments at once! Yes… And I have just the Pulsar I, with 4 sharks. Of course I've got quite a lot of ram nevertheless: 512 MBs PC...

PSEUDO REVERB. A SOLUTION. You would like to give some nice atmosphere to your lead, but there is not enough DSP power to load a Reverb, you have just a little bit left, dam! What can you do? Simple! So simple that I probably shouldn't be writing it. Load a Sample Player, choose a spacious, atmosphe...

NOT ENOUGH POLYPHONY? AN IDEA! If you find that you have not enough DSP power to handle let's say 14 notes polyphony you absolutely need for your music, coming from a modular synth or other demanding synths, there is a way to tackle it, very unorthodox indeed, but it works! First, choose the most si...

Hi Fitz. About the Latency, well... you should spect for about 13 mls. Anyway, it depends the resolution you intend to use: i.e 16 or 24 bits.

Pentium III 550, 512 PC100, 10 Gb for Audio 72000 IBM, extremely clean system, no other programs but music ones, Pulsar Plus I, VST 3.7: It works almost at perfection. The only thing I have to be careful with is the way I close VST, if I were to close it incorrectly (because of hungry plug-ins), I m...

Hi Fitz! I think that an SRB is always a good investment as long as you NEED it and have the money to pay it. I think you are missing some more RAM, I would go with at least other 128. If you can, go with 512 and you'll be a happy boy. I can't tell about outboard gear because I use none. Good luck, ...

I hope that people that for whatever reason (mine is money) couldn't buy modular II could post their modular I creations into Planet Z. This is what I would like to do too, to create a few useful modular synths and post them here. I'll start by reading more, so let's see how difficult it really is t...

I would like very much to learn to create my own synths. I've tried to do something with Modular I (the one I own) and it's quite difficult, yes. I know it's a matter of time, but which would be the first step to get there? Any suggestion? Or is there someone that could explain it to us, step by ste...
