Re: Cheap (Really Cheap) Go Anywhere MIDI Setup

sorry, I misunderstood your original post as a description of an iPhone app... (under IOS there's likely no heat problem at all) forget Garageband, it's a bulky piece of crap... I've mentioned the 3gs because I have one (still running IOS 6) with 'old' apps (btw I was really surprised about such low...

Re: Cheap (Really Cheap) Go Anywhere MIDI Setup

preferences may vary... ;) if I were to play 'keyboard' on the go I might get an Akai SynthStation 25 and plugin the old iPhone 3gs (the keyboard/dock is about $40, a 3gs starts at $30) and even with this 'world's lamest smartphone' I could record just fine - while the MidiPlus is restricted to soun...

Re: Why does Sonic core Do No Marketing?

Appartently, ... Money ! This has been over-discusted last time here : http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33953&p=316438& in fact: it's all been said... (quoting Jake Orvis) Scope's back catalog in Synths is outstanding in quality - tough for any 'newbie' I have more than I can even e...

thanks for listening and ideas, I'll file it under jazzy-ambient-chillout-soundtrack then... :D

Re: Cheap (Really Cheap) Go Anywhere MIDI Setup

80 bucks for a sub-XG quality box is just a rip-off imho, the MidiTech is obscene :D I don't get the cabling-mess argument... keyboard and headphone connections are always present the Midi box is an additional device, as could be any (outdated) iPhone or iPod there certainly is a decent (!) software...

Re: Going for a new computer - please, some help will be coo

after all it comes down to personal workflow if the user interface appeals to you - fine 8) I'm more or less an audio-only guy who needs just a convenient reel-to-reel replacement and stick with SAW-Studio for that reason (which is as different from S1 as can be...) the drag and drop of Studio One i...

Re: boards not found

I've seen this message countless times (literally) - it means all or nothing at all in most cases it wasn't even related to physical connection unplug the powercord, switch on/off the PC a couple of times so the capacitors discharge wait a moment, plug in the powercord again and start as usual - it ...

Vectron Twin

well... the track isn't that much Scope, but features the ping-pong-ball sound well know from Vectron's start patch :D https://soundcloud.com/anshoragg/i-am-not-a-vector the title is a word play with Moloko's 2nd album: I am Not a Doctor content: parts from 3 pad sounds (1 minute each) arranged on 2...

Re: Testing 6 x UAD 2 Octo DSP cards in 1 system

at least they are 'different'... (the classic Scope stuff I'm familiar with...) recently heard an example with and without some new UAD 'tape emulation', couldn't tell any difference (well, it was kinda shit in/shit out anyway - or maybe I'm getting deaf) if code on a DSP sounds every bit like code ...

Re: DSP file chorus effekt module

looks like a version of Synthetic that's adapted to Scope 5.1 environment (guessing from it's name) the chorus module in the lower right may use the standard effect this will of course be missing in an earlier release of Scope originally (in this position) there was a slot to choose from various fx ...

Re: connecting another soundcard

I usually record with an Audient ID22, which has great preamps/converters from from specs it clearly outperforms a Scope card on the other hand I have a couple of recordings made with a vintage Telefunken preamp digitized by that simple Scope card... don't ask me why... but I clearly prefer those tr...

Re: PCIE to PCIE adapter

how did you manage the mounting ? that kind of adapter is for half hight cards only ... I've had one of those myself in an oversize case and left the card 'wobbling' most important matter of fact: it did not change one bit in PCI performance (my test system back then was Sandy Bridge based, known fo...

Re: connecting another soundcard

yes, if 2 channels are sufficient there should be no problems and Scope Home supports bi-directional S/PDIF transfer
I'd set Scope sync to clock slave from the 'other system' (which one btw ?) - converters usually work best on their own clock

Re: connecting another soundcard

the most simple setup would be an Adat bus if your new device has Adat in/out (Scope's Adat Out to new Adat in and vice versa) in your DAW Software switch from Scope Asio to the other devices Asio Scope will continue to operate as usual - just without direct DAW connection Midi is routed via virtual...

Re: Testing 6 x UAD 2 Octo DSP cards in 1 system

someone who owns a UAD system once swore to me that there is absolutely no difference in sound between native and DSP implementation of the plugins CPU power isn't a big deal today when you can get an i5 SOC that fits in your pocket :D as all the UAD stuff is post-pro anyway, low latency isn't a con...

what I liked about the piano sound was it's definite clearness, really well defined and not harsh at all
it's reverb was somewhat 80s like - that gives it a specific touch of course

Re: A16 Ultra PSU

I'm not upset in any way - I just found it strange that you were even considering regulation with an AC supply ;) with all unregulated supplies that I measured the (unloaded) voltage increased significantly with current specs actually I never bothered much about it, but it was such a constant observ...

Re: A16 Ultra PSU

1 last try... the 'powersupply' of an A16U
IS NOT REGULATED
it's a simple transformer 220/240V to 12V AC... you know... that sine wave stuff
not rectified, nor stabilized, no switching unit
