I'd stay away from recap, but just replace the fallen off capacitor at the blue mark. ;)

Re: Crackles in audio with Reaper

yes, a lot of reasons possible... starting with dirt/bad TosLink cables going to gear not liking some sync modes. If Scope is clock master, then the Adat converter must be set to slave mode, which may not work well. Or the converter doesn't slave well to the 44.1 rate - which I just recently experie...

Re: How much does the Creamware a16 NON ultra suck?

Does that rule for the A16 Ultra too, or are these different design in regards of (switching) PSU regulation ? Both units are likely to be very (!) different in design, but I never had an Ultra myself. The original A16 has a very unique regulation layout - I don't have any clues about how it works....

Re: How much does the Creamware a16 NON ultra suck?

The converters and the digital filter set are among my favourites - it digitizes 18 physical bits, but uses only the high 16 bits, so the result is much better than a regular 16bit converter. The lower 2 bits are always uncertain by nature. But the unit may suffer from heat wear over the years, so c...

Yes, and there's this urban legend of running out of boards with PCI slots... There is SO MUCH stuff available that you could still buy boards with twin PCI bussus (6 slots), some even new old stock :D (recently found a German site with the most exotic collection I ever spotted online) Of course su...

Re: Any car people out here?

I remember the 1st time I spotted a 57 Corvette... man, that thing is HUGE :o (they always look so cute on photographs) :D We have no speed limit in Germany on highways, but inner city roads are often small and overcrowded, it would be some challenge to drive classic 'US size' vehicles here. I'm tot...

Re: Pulsar wont wok

It is not complicated, but has to be done with extreme care - some traces of the inner layers have interconnections that can easily be ripped off if you don't use proper solder and the stuff that makes solder flow.
I know because I once did... the job in a just too quick 'n dirty way

you may consider to split the setup into multiple mixers if you're controlling it from another surface anyway.

Re: Bells

Python Pro (if available) would be excellent in this domain: the FM part is quite regular, but the fun starts when you feed back the fx section into the synth engine and it's resonators... 8)

Re: Scope 7 Windows 10

sorry for dropping a stupid question (too lazy to wade through all that M$ online stuff)...
If I get one of those modern superflyers that require Win-10, install Scope 7 and after that disconnect it from the net:
will it continue to work without contact to it's mothership or throw the towel one day ?

... I would imagine locking the SDK down was a necessity when people like Timeworks, Brainworx and so on became interested in the platform. But that's just off the top of my head, I have no internal knowledge of such things and will defer here to anyone who is more informed and experienced... it wa...
