Re: Autogate new plugin

Dante I finally read the link above. Really great site. What is a Quad Space Shepard Generator? Good question. I've asked here, asked Holger....nothing definitive. Historically it should generate a continuously rising or falling tone. I remember that sound from a Music Concrete lesson decades ago. ...

Re: Autogate new plugin

The 'Show Desktop' off issue with SC devices happens on both my PCI and XITE - and on both Windows 8 and Windows 10 (both 64 bit).

Re: Autogate new plugin

Not so in my tests : http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_27/sc7_mast.htm ( select 'SC-AutoGate' from menu ).

The only downside on my system I have to have Scope 'Show Desktop' mode turned off in order for any SC devices to load.

Re: Propellerhead Europa - Flagship synth playable in Google Chrome

I doubt very much that a few native rack extensions made into VST will undermine the Reason eco-system - there's simply too much going on in Reason now for that to happen. I still predominantly use Rack Extension in Reason with only the occassional VST. But its good to know VST is there if for examp...

Propellerhead Europa - Flagship synth playable in Google Chrome

This is pretty cool. Can also now be purchased as a VST (previously only as a Rack Extension).

What does separate osc glide do ? I'm reading the spec sheet here, in case I wanna buyed it. https://shop.propellerheads.se/vst/zebra-2/ but doesn't mention about the osc glides. I follow in thine steps oh lord of groovy keys... I read the post above mine Dante. Seperate rates of Portamento per Osc...

that is generally a good approach, however when it comes to sample players, i'll just remind you that some of the greatest sampled sounds have been 12bit and under.
So much so that is a desired sound. Just got this recently so can apply it to modern samples :)

Re: Merits of going 24bit/96khz?

What do you guys and girls work in? What’s really noticeable and why is it better? Another thing I'm noticing about 96KHz is from the fact that when I first started using it, I was re-mixing audio recorded years ago in either 22, 44 or 48 KHz - as far back as 1997. With Scope running at 96Khz and u...

Re: Merits of going 24bit/96khz?

I don't think you can necessarily come to a decision about 96KHz from reading about it. You really have to use it on a fair few mixes over many days to really appreciate the difference. As quoted elsewhere, 96KHz processing reduces audible artifacts and this in turn has an impact on the overall qual...

Re: 96 KHz

Folks, you there using 96 KHz, if you were to give a percentage about the subjective perception of the sound achieved, what would you say? I will be clearer with a precise question: How much better to your ears do you think the jump between 48 and 96 is? Is it 10%, 20%, 40%, 60%? Try to be as preci...

Re: 96 KHz

I would say its definitely worth it. Especially if you can rationalise your workflow in reasonable ways such that your system can handle it without bouncing tracks. Even though reduced to MP3 theres a higher resolution in the mixing stage which seems to carry though. Also if you maintain a stems arc...

Re: 96 KHz

Yes. I've been using 96KHz since Jan 2015. I run an i7-4790 (not overlocked) and my biggest mix is over 80 tracks. Its not the number of tracks but the number and type of plug-ins (Rack Extensions) that would eventually overload the system. Running XITE-1D, Pulsar 2 and 2 x Luna 2 - all at 96KHz on ...
