Re: 96 KHz

I would say its definitely worth it. Especially if you can rationalise your workflow in reasonable ways such that your system can handle it without bouncing tracks. Even though reduced to MP3 theres a higher resolution in the mixing stage which seems to carry though. Also if you maintain a stems arc...

Re: 96 KHz

Yes. I've been using 96KHz since Jan 2015. I run an i7-4790 (not overlocked) and my biggest mix is over 80 tracks. Its not the number of tracks but the number and type of plug-ins (Rack Extensions) that would eventually overload the system. Running XITE-1D, Pulsar 2 and 2 x Luna 2 - all at 96KHz on ...

Re: SHARC DSP revision number

I can vouch for the power of i7-4790 + XITE-1D + Pulsar 2 + Luna 2 + Luna 2 - I run all at 96KHz and very rarely reach any limits and on those rare occasions have been able to workaround easily.

Re: SHARC DSP revision number

Well, I don't think there's any point in redesigning an XITE with the newer chip just to reduce form factor - I mean - the thing is 1U anyway which is already the ideal form factor. And there's no point redesigning it to fit more chips - because chip count is already at its limit. And for UAD their ...

Re: SHARC DSP revision number

in addition, there is no newer Sharc that will make the XITE work better or be more powerful. it is, and will be for the foreseeable future, at the cutting edge of dsp usage. more dsps, or more powerful dsps would not even work. Whilst this is true in the practical sense of the XITE - there are new...

Re: PCI cards and X-1D Install advice

The way I see the hole thing is : I'm gonna use the PCI as if it was on an external computer... midi in/out - Audio out (ADAT) to the Xite. Is there a better way ? Thanks a lot That's pretty much the only way. Details here : http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_12/pcx_mast.htm This example is based on C...

Re: MPA: Makers

I would imagine MPA to be like Eurorack but not restricted to synths - in that its a standard by which multiple manufacturers can provide modules. This could be in an 'MPARack' configuration in concept and I could imagine building a digital mixer with channel strips provided by Sonic Core where each...

Re: Would appreciate some advice on reconfiguring my hard drive settings

Hi Dante, thanks for your reply. Yes it was actually your post and setup that led me to use Partition Wizard as well. At first I used Macrium Reflect but then I needed to resize the 64bit partition and couldnt figure out how to do that with Reflect, so I used Partition Wizard to do that. I have use...

Sounds like an analog of developments in database technology such as HADOOP - co-operative processing across distributed compute nodes.

Re: Would appreciate some advice on reconfiguring my hard drive settings

I had success with MiniTool partition wizard http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic. ... al#p332225

Best thing about it is I can select boot partition from going into BIOS on startup - without having to wait for a partition manager
