Dantes Virtual Guitar Rack - 2 tracks

2 tracks I recorded using only virtual guitar plugins - Reason Rack Extensions and Shreddage 2 VST. No real guitars here - all virtual, including Electric, Bass, Acoustic and Amp Sims. Synths are John Bowen and Mastering is XITE-1D. Feeling like now for the first time after years dicking around with...

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

I can't find such a thing over here.... what's the generic name of such device? (ie, power supply? hum suppressor? etc etc). I would say generically it comes under 'Power Protection and Filtration'. https://www.thortechnologies.com.au/product/smart-duo/ I bought it from a hi-fi shop - so thought we...

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

Well Ill tell you something else weird. My last 2 DAW's have both been ASUS mobos. Every time I booted them up, they would go into BIOS - not boot straight to windows. Then when I got to Windows the date/time was not up to date. I couldn't figure it out - why those 2 mobos both had the same issue. S...

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

@gary - no idea about the building grounding. However, this little THOR baby did the trick for $109 - mic signal clean as a crystal in space.

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

So ground loop isolation fixes crackles and pops as well as ground loop hum ? I don't get hum - just the crackles and pops.

Im looking at this at the moment : https://www.thortechnologies.com.au/product/smart-duo/ which has EMI/RFI noise filtration. Would this do the trick ?

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

Yeah we are 240V here - so I would have to run it through a converter - which might not work. Will look for something Australian first before going down that route. I may be able to use the specs from the EbTech to find a match here though. Theres https://www.swamp.net.au/hum-eliminator/ here is Aus...

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

Im serious because the cracks and pops happened immediately after I removed the UPS. Nothing else changed. I also bypassed the preamp and plugged the mic direct into the XITE-1D (balanced). Same problem.

Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

A couple of months ago my PowerWare UPS (http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_08/ups_mast.htm) crapped out so I took it out of the circuit. After that I noticed a lot of crackles coming in from the mic, so I got this powerguard surge protector which I put on the mains outlet. It has reduced the crackles ...

Check this out - for the DAS F07

http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_12/f07_mast.htm

It gives you some of the main DX presets translated to F07 - and algorithm mapping.

Crazy - But I Love Shreddage 2

For a while I used Shreddage 1 but never really liked it much, so I started using A-List Guitarist Rack Extensions - which covered everything except good lead breaks. I never really check out Shreddage 2 because Shreddage 1 was a bit lame. But now that Reason supports VST and I saw a good youtube ab...

Thanks for the review. My current mobos are ASUS (on both the music machine and the office machine). Ive been keeping an eye on the supermicro as a possible alternative for future.

Re: Who wants to see famous Holger face ?

I don't know if I saw the right pic but the GUI of Tranzistow doesn't seem intuitive - more like a development gui. Such a great engine deserves a modern GUI and DSP processing (whether soft/hard). Get to it JB/Holger !

I would buy four by mail order if it had synth surface or curcuit pic instead of a cheesy superhero.

Re: Dante Trip to the USA - Where the Streets Have No Name

I'm listening to an AudioBook. Apparantly the P51 Mustang was designed on British request starting with British specs of the Spitfire and a captured Messerschmitt ME109. So the famous North American Mustang is a sort of cross breed of the best of British and best of German.

Re: Dante Trip to the USA - Where the Streets Have No Name

The day the tour visited the Smithsonian National Air And Space Museum and surrounds I had a crook ankle so didn't move around much outside the bus. But was disappointed on not seeing the WW2 plane exhibits such as the Luftwaffe Blitz Jet (234 B-2 Blitz), Messerschmitt Bf 109, North American Mustang...

Gotta say Im a bit on the fence with this one. https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/inxs-guitarist-tim-farriss-sues-boating-company-for-dollar750000-after-his-ring-finger-was-severed-during-a-horrific-accident-with-an-anchor-chain-leaving-him-unable-to-play-or-write-music/ar-BBO2peE?ocid=spartan...
