Introducing 'Modular Biometrics'!

Hi there Everyone, After a bit of experimentation with the Modular System, I have now found a direction I want to take. Half-in-jest and half-in-all-seriousness, I introduce 'Modular Biometrics'! A simple idea, (probably been done already), it uses envelope followers to pass on the 'biometrics' of h...

Re: My new Modular System

These look awesome, I have limited knowledge of Modular, but they don't look like your 'normal' units. I gather from your comments, these are a supplement to the Sonic-Core system, which leads me to suggest (or think) that you can't reproduce them In Scope. I did a bit of research on YouTube and the...

reported M.I.A.

Hi there, in case anyone (maybe there's somebody!) wondering where I've been, I had a young singer come into my set-up wanting to record a few demos. To cut a long story short, one of the songs won the London SGS 2018 songwriting competition! there's a small clip of the showcase winners performance ...

Get that drone feeling, with a triggered LFO.

Using some more of the brilliant Modules, but also had a go at triggering an LFO.

I'm getting to grips with all the tricks slowly!

If anyone fancies a listen the video is at:

'(I've Got That Old) Modular Blues'

Uploaded my latest experiment, a sort of Electronic Modular Blues. Was hoping to find some space for a solo-type part, but ran out inspiration! If you fancy a listen, the video is at: https://youtu.be/XyMumXeCk5o also a shorter version on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BjPkdMIh9l_/?take...

[latest upload] Get that Fred Frith feeling!

Thanks for stopping by, the latest upload uses the Granugator Module to create different textures that, because of the brilliant sample clock in Sonic-Core, can easily be 'spliced' into any song with the same tempo. Instant Fred Frith type solos! I know it has been said many times, but the routing (...

Re: New upload: Bartokian Dreams

Hi Nebukadneser, thanks for the positive comment, It inspired me to upload a 'May preview'! It's in the post above. and catscratch thanks for that, I've had a look at the video and I think it's the pulse width modulation lfo acting on the pitch modulation that gives it that effect. Too much and it g...

New upload: Bartokian Dreams

Uploaded a new video if anyone would like to view it, it's an emulation of a Bartok type solo violin piece, or something from the duos for two violins.

Quite fun to make as the sample and hold stuff on Sonic-Core is, well, fun!

video found here:

Robert.

short diversion

Had an idea that the Drum pattern sequencer thing could drive external midi, so I hooked up the Profit 5 and the Prodyssey and fed them into the Sugar-Bytes Looperator. And added a drum riff. Uploaded a short clip to Instagram and Twitter if anyone's interested. Instagram - https://www.instagram.com...

Short video: introducing the 'Looperfon'.

Just uploaded a short video where I'm having a go with the Sample Oscs here:

https://youtu.be/NnKzr5Hz46k

The idea is described in the video, but its basically supposed to be an improvised duo, eventually extended to 4 minutes.

Re: Modular / Eurorack emulation jam

Thanks very much for the comment, rather annoyingly, I was concentrating so much on the 'melodic' line that I actually forgot about the whole point of the patch, which was the phase locked loop / x fade thing! It might seem unbelievable, but I never noticed it until it was uploaded. I was looking at...

Introducing the 'Harmomelodium'

Most of you already know this, but the Sonic-Core Modular system is brilliant! I thought I would have a go at trying to create a dual rhythmic / melodic idea using the P1 osc. The result is what I've called the 'Harmomelodium'. Hopefully, the point being, that a new way of working would hopefully cr...

Re: For the many, not the few.

Just to finish off, I've uploaded what I called the 'construction' video. It's supposed to show what patching is available and how it helps create the sound. Its a bit rough and ready (it contains a bug). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DobFaTOVViM&t=476s As for the Xcite thing, I thought the bug wa...

Modular / Eurorack emulation jam

I have put this in the Modular section, but as it might be a 'backwater', I thought I would put here for the non-modular Scopians.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akELw_u-QXc

if you want, there is a small discussion in the Modular section explaining it.

Re: For the many, not the few.

Thanks for your replies, this sort of took me by suprise. I have only the PCi cards and maybe its not what you or I think it is! My initial idea is to show that the Sonic-Core platform can at least complete with the Eurorack / Analogue Modular system, (as well as do other stuff). I suppose I could p...
