Re: Use Audio inDSP No Response - Plugiator Tips MIDI OX

That's too bad that Noah had such a negative impact on their bottom line. I remember a few linux based boxes that were intended to run Waves and other associated native plugins at the time which were competitors in the marketplace to Noah to some degree, which also disappeared from the market within...

Re: Who wants to see famous Holger face ?

A good deal of the initial design was done in tandem with SonicCore, and I believe they'll be playing a major role in the version of Solaris that is forthcoming that I will allow John to speak about (teasers but no details from me).

Re: Intel C236 Build

Gotcha. Well SuperMicro is taking a PR beating right now from Bloomberg, but nothing has been corroborated or substantiated anywhere else. Plus the allegations are about Chinese hacks to steal data from servers in data centers. I personally have super micro machines going back to 1998, and find thei...

Re: Optimaster and amplitude

So dig in and find out which portion is bringing levels up so much when you use the Wizard, this shouldn't be hard. For me the normalization and the input gain are both usually pushed, and I rarely keep any of the sections set by the Wizard as it sets them.

Apologies for disappearing, schedule shifted. Didn’t know about the size limits for free on gumroad, that’s interesting.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Now you can post when you do have updates, but only the most recent updated files will be exposed to your users. We should also clean up this thread a bit and put that link into the parent post. I can handle the attachments if you want. And be aware that you can set a zero price and still accept hig...

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

I can bump up the upload size again, but it's a global setting (without major mods to phpbb) and I'd prefer to keep it under control for now. Have you considered something like gumroad? You can use it both as a distribution platform for this and to take donations from users to help support your prog...

Re: How much does the Creamware a16 NON ultra suck?

I believe the a16 non-ultra was 18bit not 16bit? As in the spec of the physical converters was 18bits, which is really all you can get until you hit thermal noisefloor anyway, regardless of how well spec'd and modern any converter is. Ie, if you record to 24bits from an 18bit, 20bit or 24bit convert...

Re: Security & Privacy with technology in 2018

Bringing up the privacy bugaboo again. One of my points (old and new) has been that enabling bureaucracies to act as the gatekeeper of all that is possible with a digital powerbase is dangerous because it assumes all those who hold those keys are above reproach. Buried within this article about "A F...

Re: Volksampler

It's 32bit. The STS series has the benefit of working in the Scope environment, but surely you can find other native options to convert Akai S1000 and act as a sampler?

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

I like the toggle switches in the bottom most image as that makes sense for phase 'flip'. The black/graphite look is the clearest to date imo. It also has my favorite for your large knobs. Offset knobs would probably look good on the black too, with the brass/copper as is. Now just for some metal sw...

Re: XLR Line Selector Audio Switcher Splitter noise

That breaks the shield for you, only beware that if you reference above there are quite a few ways to do this, and each method depends on the case that you face. This is where it is good to have cables that can be 'unscrewed' at both ends to be 'repaired'. A bit of work and some heat shrink tubing i...

Re: XLR Line Selector Audio Switcher Splitter noise

Instead of grounding, you likely want to break the ground of the offending connection(s) coming in. However you may not need to do that to every device in the chain. First I would disconnect each device and test each in turn to find the culprit, unbalanced at the source side is where you start testi...

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Here's a quick example of what I'm seeing in terms of too much contrast on the channels (the slider controls should be the most obvious imo, check my edit on the background channel of the first 3) and the buttons (check the ADSR):Here's a quick example of what I'm seeing in terms of too much contras...

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

It's the channels I would change. If you can use the existing graphics and simply have them blend a bit more with the images you're using in the background while keeping the depth of the channel black, I think it would look better.
