Re: Autogate new plugin

Sounds like it's been pitched corrected & resampled to me, that's a normal thing in the 'future bass' genres (which was called 'future step' in the UK a few years back). Most of these guys use ableton so that tightly gated sound comes from the envelope controls on clips, which you get in tracks and ...

Re: scope V7 - installing 3rd party plugins - overwrite files?

Since we're on Scope 7, we're in uncharted territory for many things. You can either search the forums or backup each file as you're overwriting in the case of bugs. What I do personally is simply zip up the entire Scope dir on a fresh install so I have the files if needed, and make incremental back...

Re: Samplerate settings

The other posters seem correct, it means use the second optical port for ADAT (as you would think) or as an optical SPDIF, which is 2 channel only. Probably you would still select the sync source as usual when in slave mode, even though it's switched to 2 channel operation it should still respect th...

Keep in mind that were these forums to fall into the wrong hands, all you devices belong to Mega Drive. That, and GaryB wouldn't be able to receive a constant flood of SEO/SEM related emails extolling the virtues of driving tens of thousands of eager netizens to the doors of our wonderful 'highly su...

I always use the latest as well. Older versions may work better on corresponding versions of Scope.

I would say that judging by the your studio pic that I put on the main page of the site, you are thorough as well :)

Re: Bells

Yep Fm4 is not bad by any means, but the bell tones are not quite bellish enough for my tastes. Probably need a bit of tweaking, but I tend to always find 4 OP FM a bit lacking compared to the other stuff that I've collected. 6 Op is certainly better, so good on you for pointing out DAS's stuff. The...

Re: Bells

FM was always a great choice for bellends (I jest!) The ability to start with a complex harmonic relationship and have it 'settle' into a more simple resonant tone makes FM a great choice for bell patches. Careful selection of wavetables will get you here too. Modular (with Flexor!) will certainly g...

Re: Synth died from the heat

I'll get it repaired for sure, i actually love to keep my gear well maintained (and other stuff in my life) because it gives me assurance of reliability when it comes to crunch time. Main issue is cost vs time now... The Rolands are actually more of a concern now that Arkadin gave me cause to look, ...

Re: Synth died from the heat

Opened the Virus, cleaned all ribbon interconnects and tested all capacitors and components that I'm competent enough to test. If it's an IC, I can't resolve that with the tools/skills I posses. Went ahead & replaced the CR2032 battery while I was in there, I keep a bunch of watch batteries on hand ...

Re: Synth died from the heat

Dunno man, but the heat has set off the 'red glue' problem on my JD-800. The red glue Roland used starts to melt and the key weights fall out. This I can fix. However, there is also red glue internally, so I've had to bring it back from France to UK to open her up and see if there's any internal da...

Re: Synth died from the heat

Yep, was going to open it up yesterday but didn't have time. I probably could replace a blown cap or two, but if there are failing components I'm the sort that prefers a proper benchtest to insure there aren't other components hitting the point of failure as well. I'll have a look regardless here in...

Re: Synth died from the heat

Indeed! I'll double pack it (box within a box) as well. Just curious if any tricks were out there that I didn't know from shipping other electronics. Incidentally, it was 106F here today (~41.2C) and when the A/C gave up the ghost (which it did the last few days sadly during the peak of the heat) my...

Synth died from the heat

My studio A/C couldn't keep up with the heat and in the middle of working yesterday my Virus Kb started making a clicking sound instead of what it was supposed to do. Looked over at the screen and it was stuck in an init cycle showing the OS version info, did a power cycle with a long delay to let i...

Anyway, it looks interesting to overcome my disgust and have a dedicated tablet for audulus. Which tablet has a lot of power + the largest screen as possible ?
iPad Pro on the Apple side, but I suggest the smaller/newer iPad Pro is actually the better as it overcomes a few memory related issues.
