Re: A16 Ultra VS 2496 IO Box

Gear has gotten much less sensitive to impedance differences since the 70's and 80's. And less noisy :)

Re: Envato, ARtlist, MusicBeds... experience ?

Residual income streams aren't bad. How this is managed would be interesting to know, whether one does it as an independent artist or via a publishing company that handles distribution to these type of sites... One thing I will note, is that I often see the same content on different royalty free sit...

Re: Long audio hangs and startup times in applications

My suggestion would be to leave all system sounds including web browsers and general media players assigned to your Realtek (onboard) soundcard. Use Scope for ASIO & native scope stuff. Also, this may have changed, but Scope seems happiest when not set as a startup item and when the properties panel...

Re: Favicon for Scopeusers.com & these forums

I suspect that's why it took 2 years to fix it!

Though to be quite honest, this community was very good to me during a transitional time, and I'll not forget that. And I had already intended to honor my promises here even before that

Re: Favicon for Scopeusers.com & these forums

It's a bit chunky to be quite frank, and needs improvement. But it's been gone since we moved to a newer branch of phpbb in 2017. The main site frontend simply gets overwritten each time the CMS has certain updates, so I will need to script a solution for that or manually upload it each time.

Favicon for Scopeusers.com & these forums

I updated the faveicon for html shortcuts and the browser top tab display, on both the main scopeusers.com site and here. It's now the Scope 4.x icon, which I thought was more suitable than the modern S|C one for Scope 7. If you re-save your favorite for this forum, it should update now. Apologies f...

Interesting. Anyone have a link to a product with that much expansion capability for US users?

Re: Maybe Tomorrow [1 min BMS inc. #instajam]

Geist V1 was the biggest jump over Guru. There are still things I liked better about Guru in fact, but the effects section on it consumed a considerable amount of CPU. My understanding from fxpansion was that they optimized the dsp alg.s when porting everything to Geist, for which we can be thankful.

Thanks fraz!

Just a reminder that for audio work, regardless of AMD or Intel, Faster cores > More cores. 3700X gets my vote :)

Re: PCI Overflow Problem

If adding inputs helps, it may be that you had the CPU clocking down a lot with such a simple project load (in the Cubase side). Lower CPU power state = less time spent communicating with peripherals. Repeat the same masterverb test with an artificial load in Cubase: just play a ton of stuff in romp...

Re: PCI Overflow Problem

IRQ sharing will NOT be the same as it was for Scope's original era---on a modern system with BIOS and Windows OS all set to defaults ACPI stacks everything on on a few IRQ's (for the most part) depending on what bus the hardware uses, and remaps everything on those shared IRQ's as it sees fit (wel...

IRQ sharing, the PCI bus, ACPI/APIC addressing and your Scope & Xite cards

What is the purpose of interrupts? IRQ's? Say we want to talk to a peripheral like the network card as soon as a network packet arrives. Before the interrupt was created, you had to know the timing of that hardware buffer exactly, and you would time your main software loop so that when it came back ...
