Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Well, you need to be able to install unsigned drivers, since the Sonic Core drivers aren't signed. This is how you allow unsigned drivers in Windows 8: "You can permanently enable Test Mode () by opening an Elevated Command Prompt and typing the following commands, then rebooting: bcdedit -set...

Re: Minimize on Autostart like it used to
The "-s" in the command line does the trick. Thanks!
Now I better write this down somewhere I can find it again....

Minimize on Autostart like it used to
How do I set Scope to minimize on autostart? It used to do this, and I "fixed" it some time ago, and now I can't remember what the trick is. Senior moment - I'm having lots of them these days.

Re: PlanetZ status and future plans
John, you've done a terrific service to the Scope community by building and maintaining this forum. But if you are no longer using Scope yourself, it seems to me that having you continue to maintain it is a bit unfair to you, and it just kicks the can down the road a bit. So while I would *like* to ...

Re: NEW SDK announced
Thanks! That got me to the form, which I filled out and submitted. But there was no information other than the form itself. Is there a SDK page up now, or do folks just get this information out of the eather? (Maybe I should remove my tin foil hat so not to block reception.....)

Can someone please give me a link to the SDK information at SC? I searched the site but couldn't find anything.

Re: Magma chassis
I've not used one, so take this with a grain of salt. They do look well built, and Sweetwater sells them, so I'm guessing they will work ok. But they are really expensive, in the $2000 range, give or take. So it would seem to me that you would be better off buying an Xite-1 and selling your PCI cards.

Re: XP compatibility mode
It won't work. Basically Win 7 and Vista are the same from a driver standpoint, so you need the Vista drivers. Only Scope 5 works in Vista and Win 7.

Re: What to use until 64 bit
since we're waiting anyway... a question slightly beneath the topic: Emu (Creative) made that basic X3 stuff a free download (Proteus 2000 I guess), but I found it really disappointing, sonically. Can't help the impression that the modules or even samplers (like ESI) sound way better. I still have ...

Re: What to use until 64 bit
Im just using 32 bit win7 untill then. fortunately i do not have to re-buy windows because i have Microsoft technet which is the cheapest legal(ish) way to get lots of windozes($200 for 10 licenses of every version!) I do not use big sample libraries though, mostly MIDI and synths, so the 64 bit th...

yup that's definitely a rant LOL! hey John I checked out your site.....that is some outlandish stuff, cutting edge! I liked "Spindroin" better though..... The samples in "10 Min of Cold" sounded kind of plain to me compared to some of the stuff that's available these days...

Re: What to use until 64 bit
As a non 64 bit user, I'm just wondering which application you'd use a DAW for that would compel you to go to an OS that doesn't support Scope ? Is it just because of sampling ? I have many computers ( minus one since it blew up last night ) and the Scope one would be the last to go 64 bit and only...

What to use until 64 bit
This thread is not anti-Scope. Most of us on this board are very much pro-Scope, including me. But some of us have been blindsided by the promise of 64 bit drivers by Christmas of last year, then the virtual guarantee they would be here by February, and so on. We have migrated to 64 bit computer set...

Re: SCOPE 5.1
Scope is always a good buy(assuming the proper drivers). the computers is for months, a couple years at best, but Scope is for 20years or more. ... Agree completely. I think of Scope more as a fine musical instrument than a production tool, the Stradivarius of synthesizers. It will never really bec...

Re: SCOPE 5.1
OK, I accept that you are a "complete computer fuckwit." He was clearly and explicitly talking about running a 32 bit app on a 64 bit OS ("W7 64-bit"), not on a 64 bit machine. Virtually *all* PCs these days are 64 bit machines.

Re: SCOPE 5.1
Weasel words started after a few of us took the bait and tried to install it, and reported failure. Not to put too fine a point on it, the asshole lied. I don't know why someone who has been on this forum so long would, but clearly he did. Or you could try using your own common sense for fuck's sak...

Re: SCOPE 5.1
You DO realize that as soon as you sell the Xite, the 64-bit drivers will arrive. :) That's how it usually works out. ...and have you yet tried running Scope in W7 64-bit? It's working here. :D Greg This is the post that started this "works in 64-bit" sub thread. Weasel words started afte...

Re: SCOPE 5.1
I'd be fine with a Scope that ran in 32 bit on my Win7/64 system. Makes perfect sense. But I'm under the impression that Scope needs WHQ level drivers, which needs to be 64 bit on 64 bit Windows, 32 bit for 32 bit drivers. But, hell, I gave it a try anyway. No joy. I get an error almost immediately:...
