I have tried also a Asus P8 B75 V which is supposed to have native PCI support but it had a low count (4-5 Masteverbs)and I just used it for something else I just didnt have the time t fiddle with it ...at all. Well no Scratch that ,my bad, the official site says XP compatible ....
for 5.1

I guess that ,even though I went from XP 4.5 to WIN7 64bit 5.1 directly , 5.0 is all you need for 32bit systems .
I think you will get a better answer soon from some of the other guys but if Im not mistaken
5.1 is not for Windows XP

Thankfully there are a lot of professionals ,non music, that still need pci support and this has brought back some pci support for now . I am down from 6 pci cards to 2 . As soon as I can I will move to test the inexpensive P8B75 because of our policy of one socket for all our Pcs all 775 ,1156 1155...
