Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Can pumping be emulated with an LFO/env controlling the output gain of each partial? I suppose some partials would stay stronger, and others would get very weak depending on the phase of the pumping.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

Woah, is that something that sits in the editor, or that is in the Synth code?!

An “Altoids sized” Teensy/Shruti in a little box would be very badass application.

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

It probably is best I grab them if you don't mind. I am liking the Push->teensy interface...I think I'll make a stand-alone version of the midi mapper, and maybe add a sequencer some day ;) The first edition Push's are pretty cheap these days second hand, and make a great interface. Maybe trying to ...

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth (non-Scope)

That’s really interesting news, especially if you were able to reuse much of the code generated by teensy! I downloaded the teensy files, and instead of the GUI, I was looking into adding a USB host port to talk with my Ableton Push 1, and then do the midi mapping from there. Just assessing it right...

Re: Apple iPad

I forgot to mention midimux and studiomux, which are iOS apps that connect midi + audio over USB directly to a Mac or PC. I used it once, and it seemed to work well enough!

Re: New Sound Designer Tool : Harm Gen Synth

Cool, I've got 2 Teensy 3.6 boards + Audio shields for them.

Did you extend the audio library in 1.42, or do something completely different?

I can beta test if you'd like. This seems like a good base for a eurorack oscillator ;)

Great controller for Ableton (as a Push 1 owner myself!). Not being a keyboardist, it has become my primary controller.

Re: Apple iPad

I think USB 2...enough for a couple channels of audio per USB port, with audio capable.of being routed between ports as you wish.

Re: Apple iPad

I use USB for everything. I had expected to use Ethernet more, but it never played out. The Ethernet is compatible with Apple NetMIDI, which you can get on a PC too (rtpMIDI). It only does midi that way, not audio. The nice thing is the box can go standalone, without PC, for dawless jamms with an iP...

Re: Apple iPad

Audio routing has a catch: it is not asio into the PC, so you need an asio wrapper to merge with scope audio.

Re: Apple iPad

I use an iConnect MIDI4+, which has USB ports for PC, iPad, and hostin generic midi class compliant devices, plus old DIN ports and Ethernet. It also routes audio between the iPad and pc.

Works great, super low latency for midi io. Complex as hell filtering and routing, for better or worse.

Re: Modular 2 still unbeatable

The "regular" iPad (2017) uses the same processor as the original iPad pro, and is 1/2 the price of the current iPad pro. That's what I have, and can easily run a "daw" type sequencer driving 3-4 synths plus a drum machine with ease.

Re: New studio monitors and referencing

I had a Sampson monitor amp that I used for years, and it started to flake out on 1 speaker. So I grabbed a decent HiFi amp I had, and noticed how dull the high end was. So I grabbed a second hifi amp, and noticed the same thing! I repaired the Sampson and used it for a few more years before getting...

Re: Modular 2 still unbeatable

I think there's multiple ways to load a VST into MAX or MaxForLive, to accomplish something similar. A MaxForLive - scope bridge might be a really cool project.

Re: DSP Optimization

From way back I remember (not from experience) that DSPs could be assigned relative to one another, and the STM mixer channels are scattered across DSPs 7-10 to pull off the 32 and 48 channel mixers.

Re: Vcv Rack open source great Modular

I've owned or experimented with most hardware and software modulars. I was a long time user of the Nord Mod and Nord Mod G2, MAX, Reactor, C, and really, SCOPE wins on sound. What it lacks in sequencing can generally be accomplished through a host-based daw or program. What it lacks in sound...no wa...

Yep still Aluminum 16v 47uF caps.

You must run in a very hot and/or dry environment, to have so many caps dry out on you at the same time.

Re: What additional plugins are your favourites ?

The "Trump Pedals Trump" distortion effect is a talk-box effect capable of creating any sound you want to hear. Once installed, it functions as a bypass in your signal chain, taking your power and concentrating it for use by other TrumpedByDesign effects. Non branded pedals in your signal chain may ...
