Re: USB Controller setup?

For internal to then PC routing, LoopMIDI is a solid option, or on the same website, rtpMIDI allows inter-PC MIDI over a network, and works with MACs. For hardware port to hardware port routing, MIDI-OX is great. rtpMIDI or.loopMIDI might handle this job, but I didn't think so. It's unfortunate that...

Re: Virtual Machine Use

Went through this just to see if it could run on Linux. It is likely *possible*, but needs the right VM container to connect the VM's memory space to PCI, as that is really what the OS is supposed to do & manage. Many free VMs offer only Ethernet and USB devices, not direct memory mapping to the bas...

Re: Is it useful to use tablet mode with scope? Win10

Lemur is a great app for this, but does take time to set up. Building off of existing templates helps. And it runs fine on my iPad2 (the first iPad2), so it works on old machines.

Re: Is it useful to use tablet mode with scope? Win10

I have a touchscreen, and gestures like you describe don't really exists as you'd think. Also, scope is not yet multi-touch.

The closest was when Sharc and w_ellis released BCModules, and ScopeSync based on JUCE, which was very multi-touch friendly.

Re: Scope 7

I don't have another word clock master right now, but do when working with friends. So my question, is the XITE word clock master vs. slave in scope 7 the same as before? (Ie- swap files and restart for each setup)

Re: Xite upgrade idea for portable

I use a PCIe extender cable, which allows me to fit my Mini-ATX motherboard in a 1U rack, and the PCIe card is rotated 90deg from the norm. Works like a charm If it weren't for the full-height mounting plate, the XITE PCIe card would be 1/2 height, so a small amount of metal work could make it 1/2 h...

Re: Lan switch

To expand on Vlais' comment, your localized studio switch will send packets directly between pc1 and pc2, so it is lowest latency and highest speed between the two PC's. Those packets should not go all the way back to your router to communicate between the studio PC's.

Re: OSC Receiver

[quote=w_ellis post_id=332668 time=1513687473 I'd want to understand the use case a bit better. This is mostly about being able to control Scope synths + effects using OSC, which has the advantage of full 32bit resolution and being able to run over a network (wired or wifi). [/quote] I was thinking ...

Re: OSC Receiver

With an eye on the future, can you assign midi or CV to OSC input.or.output? At a top-level, auto detect and roll up all OSC parameters (in or out)? That might help one day auto-detect all parameters in a synth, or even project, to auto/assisted assignment to controllers (like BCR2000, or Ableton Pu...

Looks great on the mobile platform. Each post does have a "Re: Subject" in fairly large font, which separates the member's name from the post a bit much. A small thing, really.

Re: Latest (2017) Intel NUC is cool!

A few people have used MAC Mini's, with a Thunderbolt -> PCIe converter, to host an xite-1. But there's also M.2 ports, which you can find M.2 to Express card converters for, to do something similar.

It's certainly not a plug & play operation, but nice to see desktop power in a tiny form factor.
