Should work w/ any laptop offering at least 1 true (up to 40GB/sec) Thunderbolt port.
Not cheap,- but might be interesting for XITE-1 users.

Re: STS bad MIDI timing...
... Personally I am kind of against of using sample libraries mainly because I like sound synthesis. That said when there is work on a product then most probably there is value so they are sample libraries and samplers that are interesting sound creation machines. True. But for me, sample editing w...

Re: STS bad MIDI timing...
Nice way of working Bud thank you ! I don't use a sampler but I use the daw as a sampler. Well,- that´s what a DAW is when recording or rendering VST/AU devices to audio. And yes, I also use NI Kontakt and Reason,- both can sample,- but I rarely do. Today´s count of sample library offerings is over...

Re: STS bad MIDI timing...
I still can't achieve more than 35 voices on STS5K without having the async error message. Better than nothing ! In opposite to STS-3K, STS-5K uses the host´s CPU ressources much more,- at least because of realtime time streching abilities ! Anyway ... real AKAI S-1000 and S-1100 offer 16 vo...

STS samplers ...Bud, what were the capabilities of your system in terms of max achievable polyphony with several STS instances loaded ? No idea. I don´t use several instances. I´m not "that samples guy" anyway and use the SCOPE synths as also all my hardware much more. For playing back AK...

... STS Samplers ... If Scope is primarily a sampling workstation for you, it is likely best to use it as you would an outboard sampler and tie it to a separate machine hosting your heavy DAW projects to keep MIDI tight. ^^^^^ THIS ! My former DAW rackmount, 32Bit Win XP (or Win 7) Pro, Intel Penti...

Re: XITE as an upgrade path for PCI owners
Quick question as I still want to start using my XITE-1 that has been sitting in a box for 10 years, but scared of all the IT and build-your-own-PC postings. A recent post by Valis mentioned using a Thunderbolt-to-PCIe box. So, will this work? If I use a modern PC with thunderbolt, and connect it t...

Scope 4.5 devices, also optional ones, work w/ v4.0 keys.MojaMonkey wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 3:31 am Thanks so much!
Yes I do have the keyfiles, I just found them!
Will a Scope 4.0 keyfile work for scope 4.5?
I dunno if you will need a v4.5 key for SCOPE application itself.
IIR,- i guess not,- but I´m not sure.

Several other advantages of XITE over PCI Cards is: ... 2) XITE is designed with portability in mind and had this advantage in the past, but now we are waiting for S|C to upgrade from Expresscard to Thunderbolt/? so that can be a clear advantage again. ... Re: XITE as an upgrade path for PCI owners
So one a16 synced to zlink and the other to Adat? Will the xite support it? With XITE you can use everything I/O simultaneously, which in principle, is the same like it is w/ the PCI cards. When XITE is the master, "word clock" (OUT) is transmitted via Z-Link, ADAT, AES/EBU and BNC. So, c...

Re: A16 ultra simple question
according to the manual, it´s 12 VAC, 1.5A !!!
I use 2 A16U and one of the PSUs is exactly this,- the other is a (norway) MASCOT PSU 12 VAC, 1.6A.
Both work like a charme w/ Z-Link and a 3-card PCI system as well as XITE-1 (w/ a blackface one)

This is why I want the expansion cards added to the software emulation. The boutique recreation cannot be used in stead of my original unit. Re: Roland Zenology 2
The D50 /D550 is nice, i think i read it's sort of the predecessor to the JD-800 and that they use same style of waveforms/sounds and are sonicly similar. Yes, JD-800 was the successor of D50 (D550). AFAIK, (almost ?) all the D50 waveforms made it into the JD-800, but the presets didn´t,- maybe som...
