Re: Windows 10 - what do I need to look out for?
I've used a Lenovo W510, but think any W5 series with an Express card slot will work. Hmm, these are very old ones. I´d try to find a i7, 4th gen or even younger i5 quad. It´s all about TDP. For scope, I ended up building a 1U PC, i5-4690k based, and it is Rock solid. I'd recommend building a 1U ov...

Re: Windows 10 - what do I need to look out for?
dunno about the cable. it might work, but i really don't think so because the interface that modulates the flow of data between computer and XITE will be missing. Aaarghhhh,- I´m an idiot ignoring the "interface",- I didn´t think about it´s in the PCIexpress card. Thunderbolt of any flavor will wor...

Re: Tech Report
After endless bitching this review site finally adopted Vinnies DAWBench tests. So anytime you want to check out ASIO Performance from reviewers who gain nothing from Digital Audio Tests, other than satisfying a niche group of readers, check these guys out. Can’t wait to see the AMDs this summer. h...

Re: Windows 10 - what do I need to look out for?
no, not at the moment. i still have my old Vostro 1400, which does work great, but it's a little old now. Well, I also thought about buying a used, older laptop, did some search for refurbished Lenovo and HP models, preferable something Intel i5 / i7 3rd, better 4th generation. But I never had a ch...

Re: Windows 10 - what do I need to look out for?
win10 should work just fine. Gary,- once I´ve seen a pic you using a laptop w/ XITE-1,- IIRC from former NAMM (or Musikmesse ?). So,- do you use any laptop w/ Win 10 and SCOPE 7 actually,- and if YES, which laptop ? For me, it´s all about I´d like to use XITE-1, S|C A16U and SCOPE 7standalone w/ a ...

Re: Windows 10 - what do I need to look out for?
... Windows 10... Disabling Cortana and One Drive make 10 a breeze. Mine is online when not gigging. Updated only once but it was odd that it updated when I just set the rig back up and the 100 foot LAN Line wasn’t yet connected. I guess it loads files then updates when it wants? Wow, l didn´t know...

no, Z-Link does not mean no wordclock. Great news ! 8) Thx for chiming in, Gary ! The masterplan is 1 machine w/ CW SCOPE PCI & A16U, the other (possibly laptop if I can find one) w/ S|C XITE-1 and S|C A16U and a 3rd machine just only native RME ´cause I have the card and 8-ch. Re: What AD/DA converter box for the Xite-1
I wouldn’t hesitate to get a used A16 Ultra. My recommendation for XITE-1 too. Meanwhile I bought 1 Creamware A16 Ultra as well as a S|C logo "blackface" one. They are identical tech wise, but the S|C A16U looks better together w/ XITE in a rack. In future I´ll use the CW A16U w/ the 15DSP PCI card...

Re: How to save midiCC after assigning an device or module ?
Thanks for all the info and it is correct that when you save into the 'midi controller' map in the preset dir of that device/module, you save the CC assignment. Now when I load a device and go to the preset map and go into the midi controller map and click on the saved preset then all midi cc's are...

Re: Plugin transfer
... there is a 98euro fee for transferring any number of plugins. you cannot transfer v5 or v7 licenses. Opps ... I thought, for EUR 98,- and WHEN a user owns PCI and XITE AND runs v5 / v7 on both platforms already, it would be possible transfering plugins from XITE over to PCI, using ´em on both u...

Re: Quad Space Shepard Generator
Well I got a new Toy for Monophonic Analog Leads. I’m taking SE-02 outputs into the R125 vrs. 2 where it gets a Strymon Timeline Bucket Brigade Delay, but also goes into the QSSG where the magic happens. 2/1 speed rate makes the effect slow, Envelope is also useful for blended the QSSG Effect with ...

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?
you cannot use virtual cores with Scope hardware. virtual cores take the real cores to calculate them. it's 24 cores with 24 threads without hyperthreading. Yes. Hyperthreading must be on and the application must be able to use threads. But can Cubase use 24cores&48 threads? Yes, cubase can do that...
