Re: Scope 4 on 64 bit etc
Scope cannot run reliably in compatibility mode. Scope is a realtime app and compatibility mode is not realtime. do as you like, however. :) unaHm, v5.1 pricing is here: http://www.sonic-core.net/shop/index.php?cat=c1_DSP-Audio-Platform.html Well like i say it was a Luna with Scope 3 and stock plug...

Re: which synth taught you most about synthesis?
My first hardware synth.. The Access Virus B I must have read the manual and the programming synths manual about 6 times! i Bought it used so only got them as pdf files.. my printer was never the same again  It paid off.. I made a bank full of default patches, with some time experimenting and r...

Re: Scope 4 on 64 bit etc
no, Scope 4 won't work on win7 32 or 64bit. it also won't work with xp 64bit. most chipsets work, although until someone has complete success, i don't recommend soclet 1155 motherboards with PCI cards. this has nothing to do with Scope 4, it concerns the hardware and how well it performs. for win7,...

Re: optimaster and v5.1
Optimaster has soft and hard saturation features which could be causing the distortion you're hearing.. How much gain reduction are you applying? Also very fast release times result in distortion and with a multiband processor pay extra attention to the low frequency band as that area is the first t...

Re: Psy Q's shape function
I'd imagine its the q of the filter.
For analysing that sort of thing is usually run some noise through it and then look(spectrum analyzer)/listen to the results when changing the filter shape.
I had to do that with my old EMU Ultras Z-Plane filters to fully understand them!

Re: scope limiter question
Personally (and if you're using Scope mixing/routing) i'd just put another mini mixer between your main scope mixer output and the actual output to your speakers. There is a control room module for that very purpose. Set the mixer -6dB (maybe more or less?) so you can never send a signal which could...

Re: Pulsar in the same computer as RME Card
I can't help as far as xtc mode goes as I've never used it. But I do have an rme fireface 400 running in the same computer as 2 scope pci cards and also had multiple UAD cards at the same time. Currently I'm using scope asio in cubase and have the fireface synced via adat. I use the fireface for mon...

Re: Mixing in Scope
Personally i send everything from Cubase into the Scope STM24. Some mix elements will be grouped and some solo. I'll still use some vst based fx on sends, just routed along with the source channel. The Cubase parts are then joined by hardware synths (Roland JD990, JP-8080, Access Virus, Alpha Juno e...

Re: TC Powercore is dead
I had a TC Powercore PCI card for a few years and at the time i sold it, the only plugin i used was one of the stock reverbs "Classicverb" It was a sort of old Lexicon-esque lush artificial reverb. Really nice hall algorithms for dance/electronic music. I know the selection of reverbs i ha...
Re: cwmixers
Thanks for the mixers. These look really useful.
I was quite happy using the standard mixers but will give the 16-3-2 a run as my main summing mixer rather than the STM2448

Re: S|C new Website, Release of SCOPE XITE-1 D and v5.1
Well the new website is very nice! I can believe that production costs may have increased which would explain the Xite-1 now costing more. It wouldnt be the only product or service to go up in price due to the current economic situation either.. :( But im really not clear on the 5.1 software.. For s...

Re: Midi accuracy, midi jitter.
Ive heard people say older setups like Cubase on the Atari is better than modern Cubase on WinXP for midi timing.
Makes sense as the OS has to handle much more now.

Re: Modular Mixing
Do these have a way to lock the L+R phase with stereo devices in the insert path?
Im mostly happy with the standard STM mixers except for stereo insert devices loading across DSPs and making mono compatibility problems

Re: Prowave WAV Oscillator w/ D50 Vox.
Also, is there a maximum sample length for use with ProWave?
Ive sampled some short waveforms from PCM synths like Korg M1 and Roland JV1080 which were fine.
But just had a BSOD from a JP8080 Supersaw sample (it had to be long to catch the full cycle)

Re: Prowave WAV Oscillator w/ D50 Vox.
Just wondering.. are those D-50 samples still on this site somewhere? The attachment link seems to have been lost :( I found this when searching as im currently sampling a few of my synths and creating Prowave friendly samples/patches. The D-50 is one which has always interested me so i'd like to tr...

Re: Scope Pro & Computer Towers
Ive got one of these Antec Cases.. http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/cases/antec-p182/3 You wont have any problems fitting a Scope Pro or any other full length pci card in there (with that middle HDD cage removed) But its worth noting that my particular setup will only allow for 2 of my 3 pci slots...
Re: cwmSynthi
Thanks!
Ive had a quick play and really like this so far. Nice layout and plenty of features which set it apart from other synths ive got.

Re: Modular III Psytrance bass
You have a great selection of oscillator modules in Mod3 already but also search for some of the high quality free modules posted on here.. Hifiboom supersaw oscillator and low pass filter (the red one) are a must have. I also really like Shroomz megamulti osc and tube filter. There are whole packag...
