Re: Pci to pci e adapter

Although I still use native PCI, I also tried a Magma PCI-Extension. I tried with 15+6DSP, which worked like a charm.
Only the limit at the "masterverb-test" appears with less masterverbs.
I keep this extension for future migrations...

Re: Engineering logs of scope ?

To get back to my initial topic: I just bought new toslink-cables, but sync errors are just an example for my question, you could also name the linkcable between scopes or the pci-interface. As I am a robustness perfectionist, I try to test if there are any clitches in my equipment by stresstesting ...

Engineering logs of scope ?

Is there a way to make scope report more details about it's internals ?
e.g.: I'd like to check for sync errors on the ADat-inputs.
( Today I have to run very long recordings and check them... would be much easier, if I could grep through a detailed log.)

Re: help me explain this ADAT effect

I'll try to exchange my Adat cables first.
But as roberflash wrote, I also have the feeling that the sequence of powering up the devices doesn matter.

help me explain this ADAT effect

I'm using an A16Ultra with my scope 15+6 system. The connection is ADAT. Usually my scope is slave to the A16. Sometimes all inputs give ugly crackles. They dissappear when I cut those ADATs, which provide signal from scope to A16. (All ADATs from A16 to scope are perfect now.) As soon as I reconnec...

Z--Link & Adat in parallel ?

I like to mess around with my scope on two PCs. ( PC1 with 15DSP-PCI and PC2 with Xite-1 ) As I only use one A16 for my synths, I used a Adat-switch to change PCs. I now connected zlink between Xite and A16 in parallel to Adat. Now I get lots of crackles on Adat-Ports. The samplerate settings allows...

Re: PCI capacity limit

I use Asus P7P55d with XP and Win7-32 without problems. Even SamX3 can be used with the latest patches. Nevertheless good old cubase vst5 is more stable than X3. On some motherboards it does matter, what pci-slots are used for which devices. I had to swap my digi96/8 card with my pulsar2 to get it w...

what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?

I want to use same VST synths to get midi out of scope and play with asio into scope.
Today I use samplitude, which is too complex for this simple job.

is there a simple & small tool to run a VST ?

Re: VDAT MIDI CC control anybody? how?

just use the VRC-S to do this.
VRC-S allows to use CC and it can control the VDAT.

Re: Ocean Swift STDM Cables possible production run

As I'm an EE, I can build my own STDM cables, but I'd like to give some hints in case of troubles with STDM: If you get errors in scope concering DSP communications, the cable might me the problem. You could use contact-cleaner spray to clean the contacts inside the STDM-plug and the golden contacts...

Is it possible to show the BPM of the midiclock with this tool ? Is this tool in combination with an other ?

Re: PCI capacity limit

I use two 9 years old machines ( I5, 8GB ) on winxp and win7-32 without trouble in scope.
But I had severe problems with samX3. Today I mostly use scope 7, which feels as stable as 5.1.
I suggest to try an other DAW to locate the problem.

Samples from Mars into scope ?

I bougth some sample pack from "https://samplesfrommars.com/".
They were delivered in various formats for some popular DAW.

Unfortunately, I'm scope addicted, so I want them to be played by some scope device.
Trying to feed them into the STS5000 didn't work for me.
Is there a way to do it ?

Re: any downsides of short latency ?

Thanks for you help. After playing around, my final result of latency for a roundtrip samX3(rme)->scope->samX3(rme) is 16ms. This seems to be the possible minimum, by adding the asio drivers' latencies: 6+3+3+6 ms = 18ms I found the parameter to compensate these 16ms in samX3, so I can achieve perfe...

Re: any downsides of short latency ?

I tried to connect a second pc with a DAW to my Scope PC. ( I connected with ADAT to an RME-card in my DAW-Pc. (DAW= Samplitude X3)) For tests, I played back a track from my DAW-PC to scope, sent it back to the DAW-PC and recorded it. The interfaces were set to 3ms ( scope) and 6ms ( RME-card). If I...

any downsides of short latency ?

As I used scope for an synth-environment since, I never cared about latency, as long it is constant. I used the maximum latency in ULLI. Now some singers came in an I start caring about latency. Are there some disadvanteges of setting latency to the lowest level ? Do scope-devices recognize what lat...

Re: Ocean Swift - Aeolian Meditation VSTi / Standalone OUT NOW!

Some hint for those who don't get any sound out of aeolian on bank b and c: You have to load the bank into the standalone version, then change midi channel for each preset to 1. Save the bank. Now you can load this bank also into the vsti-version. ( .. which doesn't have the midi-channel-button) I u...
