Re: M5A87

This chipset carries a heavy DSP load, i have not done the reverb test. I have had a problem with little dropouts in asio audio. so I am unsure what is causing this, it could be the chipset.. Or it could be problems with the driver and cubase 7.5 and ASIO GUARD.. I am running 2xpulsar2 1X luna 2 car...

3x PCI slots running 3 scope cards, AM3+ socket with a AMD FX-8350 (8 Core) CPU

For me this motherboard has been a great option !

Re: UA Apollo

one thing i have noticed is Apollo has plenty of inputs, Xite is quite limited with no spdif and limited analog.. There is AES/EBU which is exactly the same as SPDIF - you'd just need a little converter box if you had an SPDIF source. There's no MIDI on the Apollo - a much bigger omission for me. I...

this is a little drawback, maybe the Xite 2D will have more direct inputs?

Re: UA Apollo

vst integration means easy automation, easy automation with sonic core plugz, rolls, like really rolls, cc midi automation is clunky.. working with students in the age of ADD, means we must adapt..quality costs money..but when quality costs time, your looking at the most expensive commodity we have....

Re: UA Apollo

Does open scope mean XTC mode again ???
For me this is the key for the sonic core to survive in my studio.

I loved XTC mode.. now it doesn't work.. i am using scope.. but i miss XTC.. i don't want an apollo.. but dsp vst is a big plus.. save me sonic core !!!

Bring back VST integration.

Re: Cubase 6.5

well i have had heaps of problems with the pci boards since going to windows 7 64 bit. pci overloads (in scope), vstin.sys blue screens (in xtc). anyway.... now i just use the boards in XTC mode, as sound card only, no DSP software. Its solid like this, rock solid..ADAT spdif all working very well, ...

Re: Cubase 6.5

I quite like the new morphing filter, nice and smooth... quite interesting and useful modern sounding filter. pad shop is nice.. i was kind of hoping you could import your own samples..maybe in the future.. The retro synth is good.. a bit boring.. at first play..but cubase 6.5 was worth the upgrade ...

Re: IRQ and windows 7

64 bit windows is needed for Halion 4.
unfortunately 32bit did not handle it.

I will have to look into how to disable other systems using the shared IRQ.
I will check the thread.

cheers

Re: Overflow and sonic core is causing me stress.

thanx for the help. cubase was tripping in w7 32bit due to halion 4. I was using xtc and mixer mode nice and sweet in W7 32. IRQ slots are clear, and i don't see a CPU power stepping options in bios it may be its an intel thing. so my guess its the new sonic core 64bit drivers and my AMD board. oh d...

64 bit works well with cubase...

yea i have moved on to using scope in mixer mode.

But trying to get help now on this in problem forum, more stdm overload problems.

i may just use xtc mode as a sound card interface if I cant get it running smooth with the plugins.

and hey at least this will be a nice sound card at the very least!

Re: Overflow and sonic core is causing me stress.

I have an Asus crosshair 2. It was all working good before window 64bit. I am also getting this error when about 1/2 the DSP is loaded.. "capacity of your DSP has been reached. no more stdm connections from power sampler to pulsar 2" I am using the STM 1632 and only 1/2 the DSP. If I use a...
