Bill, Thanks for your reply. You are right in what you say - but you still have to play the sequencer and record to another track (or another program). I don't do this anymore - I just bounce the song to a WAV file, and the more I think of it - it never goes through any of these devices for this proc...

bouncing with the FAT insert

I know this is a stupid question, but I've forgotten how to do this. I am trying the demo of the FAT insert, and it sounds nice. I am using SONAR 7 (on Win XP), but this question pertains to any sequencer. Where do I put the FAT insert so it's part of a bounced down audio file from within the sequen...

I agree with you - but when thinking long term, we have to think about which hardware/software/plugins will work when we eventually upgrade to Vista (I'm sure it will happen at some point).

What are the odds of Vista drivers appearing?

Hi,

Has anyone heard anything to give us any hope that there may be Vista drivers for our Scope aka Luna/Pulsar cards?

Thanks Gary. I love my POD - I was just thinking about upgrading to a POD XT as a new firmware update just came out.

I might just stick with a "bean" shaped one though, and not bother with the S/PDIF....

Yes, of course I have a S/PDIF module in my project  I'm not worried about master or slave devices yet, as I don't actually have the POD pro yet (I'm still using an old POD with analog out) - I just want SONAR to see the S/PDIF device as a possible (SONAR) input. I know I sound a little confus...

Thanks Johann and samplaire. I should have been a little more clear in my post (I was half asleep when I posted it last night). What I meant was - using ASIO, I can only see my analog inputs from SONAR. I just route my analog ins to a SFP mixer, I don't do anything special with the ASIO devices. You...

Hi, I was thinking about getting a POD PRO XT and using the S/PDIF out into my Pulsar I/Luna II with SONAR. I'm using the ASIO drivers with SONAR now but I don't think it (SONAR) will recognise the S/PDIF input together with the ASIO ones. It certainly doesn't for me. Can anyone verify this? Thanks,

You could try dragging a whole folder (where your samples are) into the keygroups window. The manual says this will work (and set up one keygroup per sample) but I haven't tried it. _________________ John Braner jbraner@NOblueyonderSPAM.co.uk http://www.mp3.com/johnbraner <font size=-1>[ This Messag...

That's what I did, I made a new keygroup (a copy of the original one), and expected it to be able to access a copy of the original WAV file. It seems this is not possible.

This leads to the question, then what's the point of letting you copy a keygroup? Why would you ever want to do it??

I'm not a big fan of the STS user interface, but I'm the first to admin that there is still a lot that I have to learn, so there's always a (very good) chance that I'm doing something wrong. Last night, though, I got some unexpected results when I tried to copy a keygroup within a program on my STS5...

I've got 2GB RAM, and here's why. I use the DR008 with Drumkit from Hell, in SONAR. If you load the full "close mic" set and the "room mic" set, that's over 600MB. (I would never have considered this until I got the 2GB). Then the nice Trinity basses can be over 200 MB. Then the ...

I've never had any problems after installing SP1. I installed it right after it came out.

Of course I haven't noticed any changes for the better either....

Shayne,

The problem was just that programs took a little longer to load - it had nothing to do with audio.

That problem's been fixed now. I re-installed the patch from windowsupdate.com over the weekend and it works fine now...

I agree. I read about this somewhere (here or on the SONAR forums), and it does work better (uninstalling the hotfix).

Nothing "broke" for me either when I uninstalled - and now everything loads faster.

M$ have said they'll be a fix for this (someday).....

Thomas, I used to use a Tropez (with it's 12MB of the old SIMMS) too! I also went straight to a Pulsar, and got the STS4000 when it first came out. Now I have a STS5000, but I don't make full use of it. I agree that the STS is a bit fiddly, but it does do almost everything you want it to. rgds, John...

That's the same crap we had with the WDM driver (before the new beta one).
