Re: Master output levels
Hubird did not say -0.3 dBFS RMS . Anyway. -0.3 is not 0.7 below maximum. It is 0.3 below maximum. :-) Oh stupid me! Yes you are correct, i calculated in opposite direction woops sorry for yet another confusion. But anyway i think and saw in practice that if you mix at such high levels, then there ...

Re: Master output levels
I'd say (master)mix at -0,3 dB. For the rest: avoid 0dB anywhere in the chain :) Above is totally wrong advice. Maybe you typed wrong numbers. -0,3db is way way to much (or should i say to hot ) for mixing and mastering (and way above -6db). 0,3db - this is almost at the level of commercial mastere...

Re: True round trip latency for Scope cards - Ableton proble
It happened to me before. I can't recall how i fixed it i only want to say that it's possible to align them properly. Someone else will jump in. The thing is (if memory serve me well) that some of scope devices or mixers add slight delay for DSP processing. Several samples (enough for phasing issues...

Re: New PC -> Error: PCI Bandwidth limit reached - HELP!
In the end let me ask you one simple thing - Do you really think that all these normal people/users, all these various companies would sell something which is good only for gaming task and something which have PCI flaw which is obvious only for musicians and their tasks? Come on dude? What went wro...

Re: New PC -> Error: PCI Bandwidth limit reached - HELP!
if you have a p67 board, it may or may not work. what the hell are the technical specs of the board that you don't use a Scope card with supposed to do for me? do you think i don't know what that motherboard is? it's nice that yours worked, but there are many more people who have been terribly disa...

Re: New PC -> Error: PCI Bandwidth limit reached - HELP!
the socket 1155 motherboard and processor with the p67 chipset is the problem. the only possible solution, if he wants to use the pci card, is to sell the motherboard and processor and go with a socket 1156 solution. Uhmm...didn't i just said above that i have used this board with extreme success a...

Re: New PC -> Error: PCI Bandwidth limit reached - HELP!
maky325 if you read my post again, you'll see that i spoke about socket 1155 processors and motherboards(which is what an Asus P8P67 is). 1156 and 775 processors and motherboards run great. the A16s make no difference in this case, what so ever. No problem! My bad. I was under impression that you a...

Re: New PC -> Error: PCI Bandwidth limit reached - HELP!
sorry. sandy bridge motherboards and processors do NOT work well with pci cards. they don't have REAL pci slots. the pci bus is tacked onto the pci-e bus and it has very limited bandwidth. the manufacturers of the boards(and intel with the chipset design) never expected anyone to be using a high pe...

Re: pci overflow
 what do you think hyperthreading is doing? keep it if you like, but it does NOTHING for your realtime audio. how can a virtual core do a calculation without using a real core? hyperthreading can give better benchmarks, but it doesn't necessarily do anything for the actual apps you are using. ...

Re: Scope Synths
This will eat your CPU like candy but the pure synth sound is so much better then anything mentioned. Check KVR for free presets. A lot of good ones. Comes with plenty of preset at deafult already. And...it's free http://www.u-he.com/cms/tyrelln6 http://rekkerd.org/u-he-tyrell-n6-free-synth-plugin-n...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread
I gave examples that my own test results with the same mobo (in the supposed environment) were almost 50% off from others, making the test non-trustworthy on it's own. Shroomz once had some 40 instances loaded on a Pulsar II and could keep loading and loading until he noticed the system was actuall...
