Re: UVI Falcon

I don’t understand concerns about replacement. The Roland drum boxes (and TB303 etc) were met with the same concerns, yet people still play the drums and bass guitar. Both your examples are great examples of new tech improving the industry and making small Studios more capable. My problem with some...

Re: UVI Falcon

What I was asking was what your first portion of your reply contained: how does object compare in terms of range of sounds as well as quality of synthesis. If I want an accurate instrument I will record it played by an excellent player, simple as. Got it! Yea, nothing ITB beats a real Musician play...

Re: UVI Falcon

Btw my interest in models, whether it's VA or circuit modeling, physical modeling, AI models or even physics models is how they can be adapted to creative new territories to explore as well as how accurately they model the original territory meant to model (the latter tends to give better results w...

Re: UVI Falcon

Oh, i was not implying Physical Modelling was just coming out when i stated it was at the forefront of synthesises :) just that the biggest improvements soundwise recently are with it, to my ears. I owned AAS stuff over 10 years ago and the recent stuff from IKM, Audio Modeling, and Reason Studios a...

Re: UVI Falcon

I'm even closer now, HELP...., pull me back! Please! No, I don't want to! I'm kind of divided within myself I guess.... :P I think the forefront of synthesis right now is Physical-Modeling and Creative-Physical-Modeling wich allows you to invent your own instruments out of your imagination. Audio M...

Re: XITE as an upgrade path for PCI owners

Sorry if i was not clear, i should've worded that better. When i stated "we are waiting for S|C to upgrade Expresscard to Thunderbolt/?" I was'nt trying to imply i had inside knowledge on S|Cs Roadmap or if they even plan to fix the problem. Only saying that a fix is what we are waiting fo...

Re: XITE as an upgrade path for PCI owners

Several other advantages of XITE over PCI Cards is: 1) You nolonger have to wrestle with and squeeze those big PCI Cards into your computer case, the XITE Card is small and easy fit. 2) XITE is designed with portability in mind and had this advantage in the past, but now we are waiting for S|C to up...

Re: UVI Falcon

I don't like my VST-Instruments being on Ilok. I do have some Effects on Ilok as TC Electronic stuff was must-have, but there are LOTS of great Non-dongled instruments with quite a few being Super-Synths like Falcon. Falcon is certainly a BEAST! I do like a few things about it such as its Bowed Stri...

Re: Roland Zenology 2

Roland's Hardware legacy has always been revered and amongs the best, and in some cases THE BEST! I owned MKS20, MKS70, MKS80rev4 and the entire rack FX series (Dimension D etc.) and it was great gear. Sold all one day, but still own a w/ Musitronics speed kit, multimode and memory expansion upgrad...

Re: Roland Zenology 2

We discover things thanks to each other and that's great! Yea, i certainly learned A LOT more about Roland and their catalog of both software and hardware these last few months. I did not think much of them at first when it comes to software VSTs, but now i must say they certainly have a lot more g...

Re: State of the industry

The thing is, Music and the overall Culture has been horrible for a VERY LONG time now. I noticed the change in Music at the start of the new century around the year 2000. This correlates with the Industries Migration to ITB as Protools became industries choice around the late 90s. The lack of CPU p...

Re: Roland Zenology 2

The expansion cards add additional PCM samples to what is already available internally. My JD-800 patches use the string ensemble PCM's about 75% of the time...with 4 parts per voice they add a sheen or sparkle that tickles my ear & brain in a way no other synth can. After reading your post i e...

Re: XITE-1 PC CONFIGURATION REFERENCE

Very indepth and informative Valis, especially on Turbo Boost! My philosophy with Services on your computer is 'turn them off if their not truly needed'. Anything running takes up resources and may increase dpc-latency. At high Samplerates ones machine needs to be lean and mean. I do leave hyperthre...

Re: XITE-1 PC CONFIGURATION REFERENCE

You can try the HPET to RTC trick in your EFI/BIOS, but most likely another driver is hogging too much time in the background I never knew of this trick. I'll keep it in mind in the future. I did disable HPET in the Device Manager. I think the problem of runnig my Projects at the lowest latency pos...

Re: How to optimize windows 10 for Scope to avoid clicks and pops!?

This is the reason i always buy the most simplest and cheapest Video-card. Audio computers can be picky with hardware and software of many types, including Video cards. The cheaper Nvidia has served me well with XITE-1, wich is the same Gforce GT 730 that you used, but the rest of our computer rig m...

Re: Roland Zenology 2

Roland just released a new Super-instrument that's more powerfull than Zenology called GALAXIAS . GALAXIAS allows you to insert into it Zenology and EVERYTHING on Roland Cloud can be inserted into it and combinrd and layered with their own Arps, Effects, Etc. I guess it's sort of like Reason's Combi...
