Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!

http://cdm.link/2018/02/an-online-and-mobile-daw-called-bandlab-just-acquired-cakewalks-ip/ According to the article you linked to the new owners Bandlabs only kept 2 developers and all other Cakewalk employees are gone. I'm sure just grabbing only 2 coders was a smart move, all other of the many e...

Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!

:-? It would have been a big shame to take that great software to the graveyard without any real reason! I agree!! Cakewalk has a large user-base and it would be foolish to let all those customers go and send them elsewhere out in the cold. Cakewalk's Sonar may not be as big as Cubase, Protools, et...

Re: Creamware scope modular mentioned on Sonicstate live feed

I've always been surprised that more people had not bought into the SCOPE Platform specifically for Modular. In my view SCOPE Modular is still the best virtual- Modular out here when considering sound and functionality and it being in the SCOPE environment (no CPU usage , no latency, etc). I love th...

Re: New Xite Computer

Let me add that the latest intel processors can only run Windows 10 but the i7 4790K can run pretty much any version of Windows from XP to 10.

Re: New Xite Computer

I just recently upgraded my computer about 4 months ago. I bought the i7 4790K Quad from intel and MSI KRAIT Motherboard and another copy of Windows 7 32Bit. The i7 4790K is a 4GHZ beast and is proven to work with XITE-1. It's not the newest processor but also it is not that old (about 3 and a half ...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half

After saying all that I do believe overall the computer-music era is the greatest era, especially now since it has greatly improved :) . The industry migrating to the computer was a no-brainer despite all the flaws and growing-pains. Computer-music is a great revolution, and one I am happy and grate...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half

And unlike previous generations higher-sound-quality was apparently not a main goal as it took a backseat to the convenience of computer-music, loudness war, dirty vintage-emulations, and mp3 players while CD sales declined and DVD-A/Blu-ray/etc music never really took off. Are you referring to con...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half

Taking a more personal stance, I think it's quite funny to draw a distinction between generations when looking at sound quality. I Not just talking sound-quality but other factors also makes music sound horrible now. For the last 20 years music has been made completely different (starting in the la...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half

I think the younger generation of music listeners don't care for high-quality sound like us older generations. The millennials wich are people under 35 years old listen to music for different reasons than the older generations like my Generation-X or Baby-Boomers or the Silent-Generation or the Grea...

Re: XITE-1 PC CONFIGURATION REFERENCE

SCOPE 7 only Ok, thanks! I figured it was SCOPE 7 but wanted to be sure. The X99 8-Core platform was tested with XITE in the past and there was compatibility problems. It's great news to see SCOPE XITE-1 working on the X99 platform now. Either you used a different Motherboard that works better than...

Re: Hope everyone is fine after Irma over there!

Hope the weather gets warmer for my brothas back in New England and upper Midwest. But you gotta love the ski season in Wisconsin right? I think the real tuff guy Winter sport is the Polar-Bear-Plunge  . That's when people go jump in a lake during freezing cold weather. And some have done this...

Re: Hope everyone is fine after Irma over there!

here in Washington State, it's a normal winter... That is a little odd, especially since the deep South has been hit with this cold weather and is about to be hit with unusual Snowy Winter storm - North Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. IIRC Texas has already been hit or is about to be hit with...

Re: Hope everyone is fine after Irma over there!

Irma and her clan of other hurricanes may have left but Jack Frost and Old-Man-Winter have come with a vengeance and has been brutal and merciless on the US homeland. There has been a bitter cold arctic weather aberration sweeping the country. Many States like Wisconsin where I'm at has been sub-zer...

Re: Definitive PC?

YES, BOTH PCI AND XITE. This is GREAT news that XITE-1 is now confirmed to work with a couple of the latest Motherboards and current generations of i7 computers. This combo should satisfy Scopers for the next 10 years. Holger has just helped the community out immensely with this confirmation. I'll ...

Re: Congratulations to Sonic Core

SCOPE 7 is definitely a miracle release, and really took the extreme determination that Holger has to get it to market. If any other company owned the SCOPE platform then SCOPE 7 might not have made business-sense and thus be discontinued. There has been a lot of dsp platforms that have come and gon...

Re: The end of an era

Studio One also has multiple versions. Just for the sake of saying it... I haven't used Tracktion since v3 or so, so have no comparison there. After investigating Studio One's different DAW versions I seen that it's not like Tracktion's different versions. Studio One'is more like other DAWs in that...
