Re: SHARC DSP revision number
I doubt you'll be dissatisfied with the XITE-1D. If you're coming from a very old 10 dsp pci card system then the jump to the XITE-1D is very significant and should be enough power to keep you busy for a long time to come, especially if you have a powerfull computer to go with it. I think when one m...

Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!
https://cakewalk.bandlab.com/ Officially Resurrected! I'm glad to read that they plan to have very aggressive development for Sonar/Cakewalk and will pursue innovation for it (not frills and gimmicks, or very little of this hopefully). I suspect they might bring some sort of over-the-internet proje...

Re: what are you listenennig to at the moment?
Janis Joplin . Was the undisputed "Queen of Rock" and the first female Rock-Superstar. She started with Blues and had a VERY soulfull voice when she sung that way. She had a very unique Bluesy-Rock voice that produced top-notch singing. Love her very heavily distorted raspy voice that can get very d...

Re: New Xite Computer
Alright, Gents, update: I pussed out on the AMD Threadripper and ended up going with the Intel Coffee Lake 6-core (3.7GHz) and Asus Rog Maximus Hero X (Z370A). I installed Scope 7, it found XITE during the installation right away, and everything installed without any issues, and Scope is running fl...

Re: MPA: A whole new Chapter for SCOPE and you are invited
I’m pretty much at a point I desire nothing more for my studio apart from Xite related goodies once and a while. 😁🔊🎶😀 I'm largely the same way. When I bought SCOPE I settled down and nolonger felt the need for anything new, jusr occasional wants. My purchasing rate dropped DRAMATICALLY and my purch...

Re: MPA: A whole new Chapter for SCOPE and you are invited
@Liquid Edge. You do love SCOPE itself don't you :D ? SCOPE has long been with lots of bugs like most complex software i.e DAWs, Windows O/S, etc. I'm sure you don't regret buying SCOPE despite all the bugs its always had. Bugs will always be with sophisticated software. You are correct if software ...

Re: MPA: A whole new Chapter for SCOPE and you are invited
Ofcourse everyone wants bugfree software, but in order to survive as a company one HAS to develop new stuff. Else you will be gone in a few years. Bugfixes dont pay bills. For me...please do new stuff, but not just for the sake of new stuff...there has to be a vision behind it all. ....dont keep ha...

Re: MPA: A whole new Chapter for SCOPE and you are invited
hi Frank; Welcome back :) This all sounds exciting, can't wait to see what you have to offer. Using existing Scope gear is a good starting point I think. I hope that you and Holger can come to an agreement to propel both of your interests for the benefit of all. +1.. Can't wait to see what this new...

Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!
@Valis. Yea, Gibson left a bad impression with me the short time I dealt with them. Gibson sold many of us Sonar users free lifetime upgrades for Sonar for onetime low price and then after only one year they closed Cakewalk's doors and discontinued Sonar. If they knew that they and Cakewalk was in b...

Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!
http://cdm.link/2018/02/an-online-and-mobile-daw-called-bandlab-just-acquired-cakewalks-ip/ According to the article you linked to the new owners Bandlabs only kept 2 developers and all other Cakewalk employees are gone. I'm sure just grabbing only 2 coders was a smart move, all other of the many e...

Re: Cakewalk keeps alive!
:-? It would have been a big shame to take that great software to the graveyard without any real reason! I agree!! Cakewalk has a large user-base and it would be foolish to let all those customers go and send them elsewhere out in the cold. Cakewalk's Sonar may not be as big as Cubase, Protools, et...

Re: Creamware scope modular mentioned on Sonicstate live feed
I've always been surprised that more people had not bought into the SCOPE Platform specifically for Modular. In my view SCOPE Modular is still the best virtual- Modular out here when considering sound and functionality and it being in the SCOPE environment (no CPU usage , no latency, etc). I love th...

Re: New Xite Computer
Let me add that the latest intel processors can only run Windows 10 but the i7 4790K can run pretty much any version of Windows from XP to 10.

Re: New Xite Computer
I just recently upgraded my computer about 4 months ago. I bought the i7 4790K Quad from intel and MSI KRAIT Motherboard and another copy of Windows 7 32Bit. The i7 4790K is a 4GHZ beast and is proven to work with XITE-1. It's not the newest processor but also it is not that old (about 3 and a half ...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half
After saying all that I do believe overall the computer-music era is the greatest era, especially now since it has greatly improved :) . The industry migrating to the computer was a no-brainer despite all the flaws and growing-pains. Computer-music is a great revolution, and one I am happy and grate...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half
And unlike previous generations higher-sound-quality was apparently not a main goal as it took a backseat to the convenience of computer-music, loudness war, dirty vintage-emulations, and mp3 players while CD sales declined and DVD-A/Blu-ray/etc music never really took off. Are you referring to con...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half
Taking a more personal stance, I think it's quite funny to draw a distinction between generations when looking at sound quality. I Not just talking sound-quality but other factors also makes music sound horrible now. For the last 20 years music has been made completely different (starting in the la...

Re: Soundcloud lowers audio quality to half
I think the younger generation of music listeners don't care for high-quality sound like us older generations. The millennials wich are people under 35 years old listen to music for different reasons than the older generations like my Generation-X or Baby-Boomers or the Silent-Generation or the Grea...

Re: XITE-1 PC CONFIGURATION REFERENCE
SCOPE 7 only Ok, thanks! I figured it was SCOPE 7 but wanted to be sure. The X99 8-Core platform was tested with XITE in the past and there was compatibility problems. It's great news to see SCOPE XITE-1 working on the X99 platform now. Either you used a different Motherboard that works better than...
