sts is fine now ,replaced Trec.vxd file in vxd folder,no problems.
i found midi configurations are treacherous with sts.that might be your problem.best of luck.

as for minimax ,"unexpected dsp overload ",this is unpredictable.is there a fix for this?

the error message is:cant find dsp file recording vxd
in the dsp folder there is: rect-r4.dsp,or possibly :s5k-core.dsp,
i dont know what im looking for.
what is "dsp file recording vxd"?
has this never happened before,could there be a fault with the cd?

tried FixAttr.it was successful but i still have the problem.
have posted this on Problem Solving and getting help from GaryB.

in the vxd folder,there is TRec.vxd and VRec.vxd,neither are read only.
cant find any thing else on the cd.

there is Scope/App/Vxb folder. moved this to Scope/App/Bin folder ,but no change.i tried a reinstall.Music Manic,i dont understand the answear

tried to change to different slot but scope pro card is too big,too many plugs on mobo,sata cable etc,to be honest im lucky it fits any slot.
i disabled usb controller,so now just sharing with smbus.
on the positive side,it seems to be working smoothly.time will tell.

new computer is great,much more stable,no hanging, 512 ram but 2 gigs more next week will be better. moving windows rapidly, still causes huge cpu spikes on both cpus,though its not so critical now,is this normal? also,scope is sharing irq 21 with usb controller and smbus contoller.how do i give sco...

tried a kyro 4500 graphics card and have a slightly better performance.the card sucks though,it has a fan that is noisier than my entire computer.
anyway,halfway through the song,adjusting channel levels, scope hangs!

tom, the motherboard is maybe 5 years old.i suppose that might explain a lot,but it works fine with cubase,its just that the computer crashes with a few reverbs or a sampler,not enough cpu,which is why i bought scope.after my original post i expected any replies to say a newer computer is a must.i h...

tom,i tried that,but no change.the noise level went from -63 to -83.but no change with mouse movements etc.
gary,i already upgraded the rage driver,i've tried graphics accelleration on and off.the scope 4.5 manual says turn it off !

maybe its the rage card,the motherboard,maybe its the scope card

usb totally disabled,but no improvement.
could it be the motherboard,asus p4b. in the manual each of the 6 pci slots is used or shared by default.
