See subject. I'm interested in using one of my A16s Ultra for MIDI to CV conversion, using MOTU's Volta.

It's specced presently for Macs, but I plan to use it in tandem with a FireFace 800's ADAT outputs, which, according to MOTU, should work.

Assaf, For a new name, "Reflext," with whatever typographic conventions you prefer, seems appropriate. It's too bad Adern and CW apparently cannot reconcile their differences, but the next version does sound compelling. Adern certainly wouldn't be the first to port a native plugin to a DSP...

Hm. I wish this offered the modularity of old cards. I'd rather have 4 z-Link ports than 2 and 16 channels of ADAT, to accommodate my pair of A16s Ultra. O, well.

So, I get the impression that the DSP is in the external interface, rather than on a PCI-e card, a la MOTU's 424 interfaces. That's too bad, though I suppose there's no way they could shoehorn the DSP onto a cardbus slot. O, well.

The A16 Ultra uses a big wall wart. So does the XLR, but I really don't see the point of that unit, anyway, unless they've improved the internals as well.
