Re: Which power supply to use with an ASB unit (polarity)?

According to the manual, it works well with AC or DC power supplies: " If you lose the power supply, a standard AC or DC 12V / 1.5A power adaptor can be used as a replacement. That is a really cool feature as I remember the early Line 6 POD guitar amp sim had an AC supply and loads of people killed...

Maus, What type of file is that?

7zip. Great PC zipping program, probably not on Mac I guess if that's what you're using.

Re: Synth died from the heat (Virus KB, JD800 & JV1000 affected too)

I've shipped it back to UK, but it's 100 miles from me even in UK (no room for it in London), so when I visit my dad later this month/next month I'll have all the repair documents and will open it up and see what happened inside!

Yeah, be careful not to use a DC supply if it says AC.

I don't know the differences, but I always go with the latest. Perhaps more optimised? I think a couple have some extra functions, like drone button on Minimax.

Re: Synth died from the heat

Dunno man, but the heat has set off the 'red glue' problem on my JD-800. The red glue Roland used starts to melt and the key weights fall out. This I can fix. However, there is also red glue internally, so I've had to bring it back from France to UK to open her up and see if there's any internal dam...

Six-String sounds very clear, I like the sound, but I'm not using much guitars yet.
It does more than guitars:

Re: Which is your best choice for a WOODWINDS Library?

I just recently bought Spitfire's Evo Grid 4 which is woodwinds, but not as we know them. Great for modern sonics but not really for standard score writing I admit. I think it's amazing and I'm not even a woodwinds fan (or woodwings or woodings either) :D

Re: Python Pro 1.02 on Scope 7 - Does anyone have this device working ok?

To be honest, life's too short now and I don't have time for 'exploring' hidden depths. If I can't get something working how I want it in five minutes it will probably never get used again.

Re: Python Pro 1.02 on Scope 7 - Does anyone have this device working ok?

Also, while checking out a few forums for more info on the John Bowen Solaris keyboard which I am seriously considering, I have also been completely sidetracked by another gem of a synth recently, a VSTi called Tranzistow and its little brother Diodow. These are incredible sounding synths, but espe...

I suspect there was some kind of feedback loop somewhere between scope and Sam pro, but where it was is anyone’s guess. Oh well.
Watch out, niceboy will be back. Dark woolly sound via feebdback loops is exactly what he likes.

Re: Piano: THIS IS IT!

No matter how many libraries I try (haven't tried modelling a la Pianoteq yet) I always search for more. I am happy with many of the libraries, but they all have a different character.

At the moment I really like the purity of NI's Una Corda, and really want to get Spitfire's Felt Piano.
