Re: wtf?

I wouldn't use a dot personally - I'm old school and would try "Live 44_1" or something like that.

Re: RD-2000 + Tera Piano via Roland Cloud

I read somewhere it's actually $30 per month, the $20 per month is early access beta. Read their privacy policy. Sounds worse than Facebook in terms of collecting data.

Re: When the DAW app crashes...

I sometimes have this in Cubase - it just seems to lose the ASIO and even though Scope is still working restarting Cubase it can't see the ASIO. It's happened enough for me to notice but not enough to be bothered by it. Luckily Scope reboot is pretty quick and Cubase 9 seems much faster than previou...

Re: RD-2000 + Tera Piano via Roland Cloud

Really not a fan of all these subscription models. If you had this, ProTools and Adobe you'd be potentially forking out around $90 a month.

Re: DAW security

Just avoid the notorious candidates like Norton and McAfee. They're bloaty and try to take control. I've used Kaspersky for years with Scope, and as I say, right-click on the icon and you have an exit program option. Also (I'm sure this is the same for most decent AV) you can disable auto updates an...

Re: Scope 4.5 on Windows 7

Not sure of your process, but think of Scope as hardware. So if you mix via a hardware mixer you need to actually record the mix real-time rather than render. Rendering is a process internal to your sequencer so treats Scope as something external.

Re: DAW security

Where I work all drives and USB sticks are scanned by Kaspersky before we're allowed to download any media from them. Just make it you 'company' policy and then there's no argument from your clients. At home I run Kaspersky and leave it on except when doing DAW recording work. Right-click disbales i...

Re: Scope 4.5 on Windows 7

I finally had the time to install and run Scope 5.1. It is working almost perfect and I love the interface and design and sound and... You made something special there in Scope 5.. I am so amazed and excited.. There are two issues though: I have issues playing music at 44.1khz (Scope Sample rate).....

Re: LGA 2011 v1

All failed boards were X99 variants (ASUS and Gigabit) - actually I just checked and it was X99-S that I had originally. The good board (for me) was the ASUS Z97 Pro. Processors are i7-4790K (overclocked). Sorry for the confusion - have edited my posts to reflect this in case anyone else comes acros...

Re: LGA 2011 v1

I had an ASUS X99-S at home and tried many BIOS tweaks. Did nothing. Went to the manufacturer with my XITE and tried another ASUS X99-S. Same result as my one at home. We then tried another ASUS X99 model (can't remember which, maybe Deluxe) and tried a Gigabyte X99 (can't remember which model, but ...

Another problem is modern graphics cards often cover one of the PCI-e slots - usually the one you would prefer to use!

Re: LGA 2011 v1

Just so you know, I had huge issues with X99 and XITE: http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33610&start=20 I ended up with a Z79 which works fine. I'm sorry to hear this  - - Was this a one off? - or is it generally known that X99 is not good for Xite-1? - PCI cards ...

Re: Where does the Scope platform go?

I have been with this platform for 10 years. I've been with it 16 years. There aren't many systems still useable this many years later other than hardware. I have a lot of money invested in this platform and maybe it's time to leave without losing everything. At this moment it still works, it works...

Re: Help me make a new "Scope friendly" build

Here's what I went for:

ASUS Z97 Pro
i7 4790K processors overclocked to 4.2GHz
16GB Corsair 2400MHz DDR3 memory
2x 1TB 7200RPM hard drives
2x Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD drives
NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 graphics card
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
