Re: How do I overclock my i7-4790 ?

FYI. I have the non k and k versions. Supposedly k means you can overclock only that CPU. Total bullshit. I run my non k @ 4 GHz because that’s the optimal speed. My k version I run stock speeds as I don’t need more juice. However 4.4GHz is easy and the Asus can do this in the BIOS. Reboot holding d...

Re: One Year Later...

Damn, I was just finishing up programming an A16U on V5 using Z-Link A/B loving the sound of hardware synths and SHARC DSP based Strymon Pedals. I was going to try Scope 7 since it’s installed and working, but haven’t tried it with the A 16 and Z-Link yet. Hope this isn’t like this using ASRock Rack...

Re: bios and windows tweaks

In case it wasn’t mentioned, disable Defender if your using sampled instruments. Defender scans your drives reducing polyphony from the excessive permissions and increased latency. If you ask me Defender just scans your data so they can collect in exchange for “Safety.” Keep that sucker offline too....

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

that's what the switches are for... thanks. I was hoping that would do the trick. Unfortunately gonna be a hassle getting behind my rack :x thinking about such things is a sure sign of becoming a good engineer. btw-that is why the dip switches are in groups, so that you can use part of...

Great news actually.
You’re going to like Solaris.
You might be getting a model with the new mainboard if 2019 is the ETA.

Congrats JoPo

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

I guess ADI.O is doing really well too. My Portfolio shows Analog Devices is a solid investment. Even after the horrible October, worst since the 2008 crisis, the stock rose by 2.39%. Strymon Pedals and UAD Apollo’s use the ADSP-21469 chips. What’s really interesting is how Juergen managed to attach...

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

On another note my attempts to replace high quality sampled instruments with hardware modules failed. Tried every module out there and I can’t sacrifice my Horn Sections or Strings for factory brass or whatever else they’re selling. Moral of the story, ended up discovering Pedals I was unaware of, g...

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

Heres the scoop. I’m running these as Mixer AUX channels, not instruments, so +4 for my needs. Master FX Module/ZLink-A16 Out > Strymon Stereo inputs > Strymon Stereo outputs > A16 inputs/ZLINK Master FX Module. Each AUX in any Scope Mixer, I’m using RoyTs 4 AUX 16 Stereo Channel Mixer. AUX channels...

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

Don’t need the money anymore. It’s just insulting to think 975 a week was I made there in 1986-1991 just doing a lounge gig. These cheap bastards squeeze the quarter until the Eagle screams. But new toys keeps me occupied and I’m with my family. One door closes and another one opens. Th Leslie sound...

Re: Strymon Pedals w/ MIDI

Add another Strymon Pedal again. Mobious. So now I’m using XITE-1 mixers and MIDI Devics only. AUX 1. Strymon Deco Dual Deck Tape Flange and Overdrive. AUX 2. Strymon Mobious Multi Modulation AUX 3. Strymon Timeline AUX 4. Strymon Big Sky MultiDimensional Reverb Fuck it. I was trying to shrink my ri...

Re: Intel NUC to run scope v7

The Intel NUCs are nice, but check out Gigabyte, ASRock, Asus and see if they’ve got some variations.
But I’ve looked at some of these and if it’s just for Scope only, you wouldn’t need a fast CPU.

Which one are you looking at?

Re: In layman terms please.....

Jimmy and Gary are our most prolific builders here. What Scope setup are you using? PCI cards or Xite? That's one of the first considerations. What's your CPU in that setup? Also you'll need to do the Ram too for sure, at least if the system is going to be modern. We're on DDR4 now. I’m a systems i...

Re: VDAT on Windows 10x64

It’s similar to NOT using Zebra2 FX and routing them into Scope, or even Pedals like Im using.
Once you detach VDAT from the project window or convert, it’s just another audio file.
If people notice these subtleties I believe they have the ear it takes to create great mixes.

Re: VDAT on Windows 10x64

if you get it to work, great. HOWEVER, VDAT is almost 20 years old. it was never intended to work in 64bit windows, because 64bit windows was not even something that existed back then. if you use ANY version of VDAT in 64bit, you will have problems. Thanks for info Gary. I didn't know that. I use i...

They’ve got thousands of presets. Comes with 4 Banks of presets. I still tweak those or make my own. And those extra Filters are great. The 303 is perfect for detailed quieter sounds that needs a boost in presence. CS-80 is juicy. The rest are good but it’s really nice accessing so many different ki...
