Re: Studio Electronics SE-02 MIDI Editor

I was excited about the connections and patch/song/pattern saving with USB and MIDI Connected simultaneously that I did a GIF right away.
Now that it’s activated I’ll do a vid of multi CC Controls from my hardware Reflex Pedal (hardware version of a SpaceF CC2x2 only with 5 CCs) soon.

Re: Cinebench R15

I think Xeon E is a SoC design, and I’m seeing C246 data being leaked. I don’t need all of these new features like WiFi TBolt 3, or 30 HSIO Lanes. I really want a fast low latency quad. V6 1275 or i3 8350k are on the short list. Chipset maturity is more important too. The extra 200MHz of the i3 does...

Re: Cinebench R15

Sorry, it’s the 1275 vrs 6 w/ iGPU. 73 Watts 3.8ghz. Very fast for Xeon. I load twice as much as I need on the i7 4790k and never go above 70%. Most likely 50% max on this design. Asus Supermicro and ASRock all have rack optimized boards. Asus has one I really like as it only needs an 11 inch cable ...

Re: Cinebench R15

Indeed, Vinnies Bench is the very best, but just for the sake of Core Locked synths like Zebra2HZ or Omnisphere where you’re just looking for a quick guide to upgrade your existing CPU, comparing the scores by various reviews before actually building and testing yourself it’s a safe bet. Coffee Lake...

Re: Superbooth - Omnisphere 2.5 free update with new h/w synth integration

Super duper update.
I use 4 x sound sources to get over Native thin sounding traits.
It’s why Zebra gets fat too..

I was using dual live mode, which wastes an entire MIDI Channel.
2.5 will be nice.

Grandpa Moogs are offensive.
Misogyny Sexism, and Gramps is most likely a racist too.

As a white supremaphobe this is my conclusion.

Studio Electronics SE-02 MIDI Editor

XITE-1 easy money.
Random Patch generator now, morphing mode, new PWM LFO rate/depth.
Really love this synth.

Re: Which is your best choice for a WOODWINDS Library?

PLAY WWinds sound great.
I use the cheapest 16bit PLAY stuff to save resources while getting that awesome sampled sound.
Upgrades are usually cheap too.
I just don’t need the extra mics and artics for my needs.

You can get that Wagnerian “Dawn & Journey Up The Rhine” sound.
Fuckin goose bumps...

Re: Yet Another Moog - the Gandmother of them all

Get an SE-02.
I smack around my guitarist and bassist on one of these.
It’s a Mini clone plus.
Feedback and filter routings give it really aggressive tones.
New PWM firmware update gives it that big thick PWM PMod Tom Sawyer tone.
It’s really for live work on bass & lead.

Cinebench R15

Not a big fan of Audio benchmarks since some sampled instrument apps operate differently than Kontakt, or PianoTeq which are well optimized. But ASIO and polyphony don’t require tons of IPS unless heavily scripted. When looking to buy a CPU, read reviews where Cinebench Scores are used, multi thread...

Re: Dave Smith Instruments & 8DIO Sequential Prophet X

Does it have Digital I/O?
If yes, then importing 16bit makes even more sense.
My old Mirage and Emulators were 8 Bit, S760s 16 Bit, all of them sounded great.

I’m wanting more Oscillators though.
And a rack mount too.

Re: Enhancia - Neova Ring

I’ll get one 4 each hand. But wireless is key. I’d be getting handcuffed all the time. I’m using an app that connects to a mini iPad hardware screen via USB. I trill my fingers above the screen in a scissors like action for 64th note string bows like Jean Luc Ponty. It means I lose a hand though. Bu...

Good price.
