PCI SLOTS Motherboards

Hi, Whilst some download completes I just took a look at AsRock Industrial motherboards - I just can't believe PCI slot boards are still being made - And this is one that works with DDR5 - I don't think I'll be looking into this as I've got enough boards! - But for anyone who has PCI cards this coul...

rawkhard wrote: Tue Nov 14, 2023 10:26 am thats correct, but i´m not sure this applies to z-link
But it would apply to ADAT - Which is on a Scope PRO PCI card - I think it probable - so 44.1 Khz gets 5.9 ms RTL I/O - Total path for the Scope Pro PCI - But PAE works

Re: Scope Pro XLR

Hello Garyb I'll re-phrase the question - as I'm not the best at asking in the best way. The Scope Pro has 16 ADAT inputs when used with a converter AD-DA - To get into and out of the PC. By changing the sample rate from 44.1 Khz to 96 Khz - Will the same 16 I/O channels still be able to be used wit...

Scope Pro XLR

Hi, Just been having a look at the Scope Pro card a bit more closely regarding the round trip latency - If the sample rate was raised to 96 Khz in ULLI settings, does this reduce the input track count by half? - I know at some point this does happen but does it happen at 96 Khz on Scope Pro running ...

Re: Mixed cards gen 1 & gen 2

Hi - OK - Best to use the newer cards as master - But still be able to use the XLR output on Pulsar 1 for the hotter signal - (route anything anywhere) - This would work wouldn't it - I hope so..... and if so, it gets round that problem easily -

Gen2 card or not

Hi, It's difficult to know what is a gen 1 card vs gen 2 card for the following: I got a used Scope Pro ADAT - 24 I/O (very happy to have the card) - 25:05:00 was the date of manufacture - May 2000 - is this a gen 1 card? When I bought my first Scope card it was around 1998/1999/2000 - It was a Puls...

Mixed cards gen 1 & gen 2

Hi, As has been pointed out - Pulsar 1 has higher latency than Pulsar 2 - And as I've collected a number of used cards at some point it would be planned to build a system comprising Pulsar 1 - balanced input / output XLR _ this is good no? Pulsar 2 Z-Link - unbalanced Pulsar 2 - unbalanced This woul...

OK Mr Bud Weiser - Please help find one - I can look as well - But these are all used 2nd hand - which isn't a problem (always) but sometimes can be as it is a lottery as to condition of used equipment -

Re: comparing AD DA 8 input boxes & DSP resources

Hello - I do have a Pulsar 2 - and also Pulsar 1 but I must get the best out of the Pulsar 1 and work around any deficiencies - I'm sure this is possible isn't it? - especially for line level ? Regarding A16 Ultra S|C "black face" - I have one of these with Z-link - So this is reserved for...

Wow, that is good news - It vindicates a purchase of a Pulsar 1 card with a Pulsar 1 DSP SRB along with my own Power Sampler and ADAT expansion port - :)

Re: comparing AD DA 8 input boxes & DSP resources

Hello - Thanks for all the replies - And you personal views / and how you use these boxes !

Is 11 DSP enough for 32 I/O on line level - The main purpose of bringing in 32 channels into Scope mixers?

comparing AD DA 8 input boxes & DSP resources

Hello - about comparing 8 inputs boxes - Analog to digital conversions - Usually it's preamps that people compare and ask about but here I would like to ask about the line level conversions. The reason for this I've got several old hardware sound modules which will require inputs into a mixer - Afte...

Re: Creamware S|C A16 Ultra

OK - And so another A16 U with Z-link would be needed - I have one but it's reserved for the Xite-1 - So another would be needed for the PCI cards that support Z-Link - But these can sell for a lot of money - Maybe too much!!! -

Re: Creamware S|C A16 Ultra

Hello - Thanks for replying YES the PCI cards work with the S|C A16 Ultra.

One PCI card I've got is the Pular 2 Z-Link - with 2 x Z-Link & 1 x ADAT - So does this mean it will support 24 I/O? - 16 on Z-Link (8 I/O each Z-Link) plus 8 I/O over ADAT?

Creamware S|C A16 Ultra

Hi, Does the Creamware S|C A16 Ultra - The one with Z-Link - work with the PCI cards? - This may have been asked many times but I can't remember if it can or not. I do have 2 x Luna 2 I/O boxes but these are unbalanced RCA connectors - Any info welcome - Thanks fwiw - It is a hindrance for these Z-l...

Re: Recent Windows Update Patch Screws Win 7

Bud Weiser above seems to have a good option for downloading Windows 7 versions. If I remember correctly I bought some 32 bit & 64 bit versions of Windows 7 SP1 CD/DVD - Windows 7 SP1 was just like the original Windows 7 release but with a load of updates all included. There were two other updat...

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion

Try & report back, perhaps they have a good return policy. Hello - :) - This isn't a good comment - - But don't worry - I did figure I'd try this out - and it has plenty of bandwidth 2.5 Gb/s. Star Tech do a big box version as well but it has 2 X PCI & 2 X PCI-e - X1 - So this box wil...
